This should spark for some interesting debate.

6 teams that's started fast this year are they Contenders or pretenders?

ive always thought both of them were worthless pieces of ****, but at least theismann has his head out of his *** and is showing the ability to still hop on a fast moving bandwagon after that horrific leg injury...
 
Good read even though I am kinda mad that we (along with Redskins) were named pretender once. Still, I agree with the reason Mike Golic gave. I, myself, am not sold of us going all the way. Even though I hope they do, it would be really hard. I think the most truth was the fact that we always start well early but drop the ball at the end. Remember our 10-6 season with no playoffs? So many chances and we just dropped the ball. I am confident it wont happen again this year but we must continue to do well in order to prove the rest wrong. GO PHINS!
 
well I tell you what a win against Buffalo and T.B will change the pretender label to contender very quick.
 
I would have to say we haven't proved enough to be legitimate contenders but our once powerhouse divisional is now up for the taking whitch gives us a much bigger chance to be legit contenders. These next 2 games will determine if we are the real deal, as we need to show something to what we can do on the road, esp in a hostile environemnt like buff.

I thought it was funny that Theisman thought everyone mentioned was a contender. Come on now. I personally don't care too much that we don't have everyone convinced yet. There are still a lot of questions.

The more we win the more the "media" will support us.

Either way I just want to win games.

Lions did, and it was highway robbery. The Buccaneers shouldn't be undefeated right now. It's a shame. The Refs stole a TD from Detroit.

You could say the same thing about Cincinnati (3-10). We will know after about 8 weeks with all of them I believe.
 
fact is that it's just too early to tell. We have had exactly 1 road game, and we looked terrible. If we go to Buffalo and lay the wood to them, that will open a lot of eyes.
 
i say we're still pretenders because the pats still have Brady who is the equation to winning
