Contender or pretender? Do you think our Dolphins are for real, or are we just gasping for hope. I haven’t had the opportunity to actually get to watch many games so what do you guys think? As for my opinion, we definitely have more fight then the past years, and that’s all I can really say being from NY and not really getting the chance to watch them. Lets here some opinions

Neither. But we can be a contender once we secure a franchise QB, a veteran CB, and keep a majority of the players we have.

I would say we are currently riding the line, with a strong finish to the season we are contenders. It is becoming clear that Saban is building something special and FA players will want a part in it.

I agree with you. We should be blowing out the crap teams like Buffalo etc, thats how come Im with you when you say were on the line. It should be a interesting f/a market this year. If we close out the season with wins, will really need to make it count seeing that we would of shot our draft position out the window.

Ok, so its proven we can play with the big guys, but whats stopping us from getting past the weaker opponents? This is why Im not jumping on the contender bandwagon. Its worrys me that we cant beat the weak teams.

For it being Saban's first year and what he has had to work with, I'm pretty excited with the possibility of going 8-8 and even 9-7. Once we get a franchise QB and some more youth on D - we'll be perennial contender. I'd say next year we can give it a good run at the playoffs, maybe a wild-card, but by 2007, we'll be a legit contender. I think you'd have to follow the Marvin Lewis rebuilding mode. Going from 2-14 to the playoffs in 3 years w/the talent Cincy had...if you relate that to Saban, I think the playoffs could be in reach next season. I'm really fired up about having the chance to still make it this year!!! Let's Go FINS!

If we hadn't lost to three sorry arse opponents (Buffalo, Jets, Cleveland) we'd be 9-4 with quality wins over Denver, Carolina, & San Diego & very much apart of the playoff & possible bye week talk.
