i can't remember this so if someone can asnwer it, i'd appreciate it. If a player for example i dont wnat to say any names and jinx xanything but lets say with waht happened with Bentley, is he goin to get paid for the year since he is injured or no? cuz hte nfl has that no guaranteed money situation. i cna't remember how it worked. someone break it down plz.

He gats paid but if placed on IR then it wont affect their cap, allowing them to sign some one...

As long as he is contractually bound to the team, he gets paid. And if a team tries to release a player due to his injury, the player can file a grievance, which is why you'll occasionally see players and teams work out injury settlements.

Not exactly sure what you mean by does not effect the cap. But if you mean his being put on IR does not give you a cap break then you are right. If a player gets hurt while in a multi-year deal, if he stays on the roster then his full amount of his contract count against that years cap. That is why you will hear coaches say they have X amount under the cap, but they have to sign their draft picks and save a million or so in case of injuries.

As far as i know - he DOES NOT get paid his contract amount - he gets paid a workman's comp sum per month depending on a percentage of his contractual amount. That is what i have been told by guys who haved played in the NFL but now play in the arena league.

They must be talking about practice squad guys. If a player under contract is hurt in the course of his job with the team, like Bentley, they get what was due to them for the season in base salary. Some of the scrubs likely have some type of daily or weekly payscale, not a 1 yr contract. If they yare in the Arena League, they were likely right about their situation.

Well i can tell you tremain mack(not a scrub more like a pro bowler) is my source. Because contracts are NOT guaranteed in the NFL, the only portion the team is required to pay is the bonus. The player who get injured get workman's comp sums - just like in any job.

Well ask him again. NFL players sue for workman's comp after retiring from the NFL, since the NFLPA doesnt cover medical expenses. If you are injured while under contract the team is still required to pay the sum in full. In this case the contract is guaranteed. While injured and under contract, and NFL player is untouchable.
