Since we are basically hitting the reset button ONCE AGAIN this offseason. Just a look into the future with some of the contracts we can shed.

Starting with candidate #1. Hate to see him go, but the writing is one the wall with his injury:

Cam Wake - $6.15M savings

Hes just not the same dude and on the wrong side of 32:

Brent Grimes - $5M savings

He wasn't horrible, but also not that great either (partly I blame TH):

Jordan Cameron - $7.5M savings

Simply put, washed up:

Greg Jennings - $4M savings

BUST:

Dion Jordan - $3.2M savings

All together its about a savings of $25,850,000.00

I would be on board with losing all of these guys and using the money to resigning OV and Lamar. Even if we dont end bringing those 2 back I would still get rid of these guys for cap savings purposes.

Anyone who I left off you think belongs here?

Anyone I put on here you think we should not cut?

SIDE NOTE: We currently have about $8M of cap room to carry over.

I'd be onboard for this. But there are two elephants in the room. Since we will be in rebuilding mode again, the questions needs to be asked; are Tannehill and Suh good enough to build our offense and defense around? Are they each worth their own $100 million contracts?

If we answer wrong we will either be building a critically flawed team or letting go of a talented (and expensive) player.

I would really like to sign Marshall instead of OV.

So with the 8-10 mill cap increase we sit at $35 mill....Eric Berry would be high on my wish list.

I would restructure Wake and Grimes. We don't have better options. Wake can become a pass rush specialist and Grimes will start because we don't have any CBs on this roster and you're not finding better on the street right now. Maybe make him the #2 CB or stick him in the slot but he's going to be a Dolphin next year. As usual Dolphins are reactive instead of proactive when it comes to personnel.

I have no use for the other 3.

All of the above.

The only 2 players on this list that were ever worth rostering in the first place are of course Wake and Grimes. Father time has not been nice to Grimes, and Wake has a very slim chance of ever being close to what he was pre-injury. Time to start building for the future.

As for the other 3 guys, who gives a **** nobody will miss their so called "production"

Realistically you cannot cut Tannehill until 2017 or Suh until 2019 due to the amount of dead cap we would have. Regardless of what you think those 2 are here next year.

Suh contract - http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/ndamukong-suh/

It's obvious that Jordan Cameron is gone. Dion Sims is getting plenty of action in the passing game. I don't think Jordan Cameron is washed up, I don't think we used the TE as well as we should have. Jordan Cameron would thrive in the right offense.

Greg Jennings is gone, maybe comes back on a restructured deal.

Dion Jordan is gone I would think but whatever.

Cam and Brent both restructure.

I don't think either are washed up. Cam was coming alive before he was injured. Brent is still a solid CB. You can't let him walk. Restructure both and both will be back.

You can't just let players go. You have to have a plan in place.

If you are Grimes or Wake and are going to take a pay cut why not go take to a contender since time is running out for you. If I was either of those guys I would force the Phins to keep me as is or walk. Both will get a shot on a team that's just a couple pieces away or adding veteran depth.

I would cut every one of those guys.

Jennings is a no brainer, team doesn't need him.

Wake will be tough because he has been a great player for the team for so long, but at this point he will most likely be a situational pass rusher and the team just is not close enough to pay that much for a part time player.

Jordan Cameron has been a huge disappointment. Part of the issue has been the offensive coaches misusing him. However he has had some critical drops. He's not worth what he is scheduled to make next season.

Brent Grimes is no longer a #1 CB and you can't pay a #2 CB what he is scheduled to make.

Dion Jordan is a waste of space and adds nothing but frustration for the team. Cut ties to the bum and let the failures of the previous incompetent regime go.

People are still defending Cameron? Good lord. I was excited we signed him, too, but he's a huge bust. He's had more drops than catches, and he's been a huge disappointment when you factor in his salary.

Not going to even mention Dion Sims. We now have need at tight end. Another hole.

And you're hilarious if you think this team is going to re-sign Lamar Miller. I hope we do - he's an absolute stud - but we wont even play him in the second half. Is there really such a huge disconnect between the two (front office vs coaching) that we're looking at these guys completely different?

As for your plans - you cannot cut everyone and expect to stay competitive. This isn't Madden. You restructure Wake and keep him as your 3rd down pass rush specialist. You restructure Grimes and keep him as your #2 CB. If they have a problem with it? I completely agree. But you dont completely cut them. That's foolish. Talent is talent, and on this roster especially, we need any type of talent in the secondary. We need to draft a top tier CB, we need to sign a mid tier boundary DB for depth. We need to bring in a new LG. We need to draft a new TE. We need to sign a MLB.

So we save just enough money to pay suh's salary for the year

I don't know if its possible, but perhaps we can try to trade Cameron? In the right offense the guy would shine. Perhaps the Saints or Packers just to name a few team's I think he would thrive with.

I would definitely try to restructure Grimes but something tells me that hood rat wife of his isn't going to allow it. She has been pretty vocal about her feelings towards the Dolphins but we'll see. Grimes isn't a number one but he would be a solid number two. We are extremely thin in the secondary as is, we cant afford to let Grimes walk.

I would attempt to restructure Cam and bring him back as a situational pass rusher. I think he'll come back with a chip on his shoulder. Bring him back on an incentives based contract. Low risk, high reward. Really depends on what he wants to do at this point. I think he's earned the opportunity to go and play for a contender if that's what he wants.

Greg Jennings has to go. Terrible signing.

I'm torn on Dion Jordan. I know he let us down and didnt produce much for us but to be fear he didnt get a wealth of opportunity. I don't know if you,can restructure a rookie contract or not - but I would if I could. I would do my due diligence bringing him into camp and if the man seems sincere about his growth and is hungry to play football it could be a boost for our defense. Say what you want about him, he's a freak athlete. If his mind is right place it could be another low risk high reward situationss

Nobody is trading for that contract.

Also nothing low risk about paying a sub par football player like Jordan 6 million dollars

I'm sure Grimes and Wake are going to love taking reduced salaries in order to waste the rest of their careers on a team that's at least a couple of years away-- at best.

Wake may stay. Grimes-- no way.

Team won't be competitive in 2016 either way. By the time the Dolphins are ready to compete, both Cameron's and Grime's careers will be over. I doubt either will be willing to restructure anyway. Wake would probably be more likely to. I think Grimes and Miko have worn out their welcome in Miami and are ready to move on. Grimes will not be a Dolphin in 2016.
