Jenkins joins Bears: Linebacker Corey Jenkins, waived by the Dolphins on Tuesday and claimed by Chicago, expects a bigger role with his new team.
"They want me to play linebacker, not just special teams, so I'm excited," Jenkins said. "I would have liked to have stayed here but I understand the business. There's no hard feelings."
Jenkins, a second-year player, appeared in all 16 games during his rookie season, primarily on special teams.
"It was really tough," Wannstedt said. "He did a good job for us, but we just didn't have a choice. With Pat being slowed up a little bit, we had to make sure that we were secure at the corner spot and we had to bring Jimmy Wyrick back."
