If we are going to bring in a guy like fiinegan after his year last year, what about a guy that nobody is talking about in Asante Samuel? I can be missing something whether an injury or something if so, I apologize

samuel is 33 so he's old and not the same player like he was before. i wouldnt mind finnegan since he's physical but i love either terrell brown, browner or thurman. anything from the 49ers/seahawks roster

True, and I like all those names too, if we sign any of these guys our cornerbacks are going to be more physical and better tacklers then our linebackers which is hilarious and sad, so I don't know whether to laugh or cry

Finnegan might come with a prove it 1 yr cheap ala Grimes which is great because if there is a team that has proven that theyll reward you for bringing it, Miami just proved exactly that. Itll light a fire, Grimes telling him in the locker room, "Look at me. Ball out, dawg."

Finnegan's tackle stats are rudonkulous: 494 tackles in 8 years as a CB- 83 in 2012 alone. For a team that surprisingly struggled on run D, thats a thing of beauty.

30 yrs old against 33 but the injury balances it out.

With Asante, though, you have that 33 year old pure instinct of takeaways on the field capable of striking faster than a diamond back.

Hell, they both might come cheap. That would be one scary secondary. Iffy, but scary.

I thought so too but check the stats. The guy had 19 passes defended and 5 ints just a year ago.

i havent looked at his stats as of late i was distracted by richard sherman

I'd also like to bring back Patterson for cheap to see if he can stay healthy. He did well while he was on the field.

My worry is that NE keeps signing all kinds of decent CB's and we just passively are talking about certain middle-tier guys? I realize they were in a worse spot after losing Talib, but they've more than made up for that since. Latest news has Browner close to a deal with them as well. While one could say they are bringing in a lot of risk with the group they have brought in, there's a lot of talent and upside that goes with it. And if just half or more work out, then they will be tough to pass against. Why not try the same and increase our odds of payoff instead of just hoping the rookies step up and/or draft ? Just wondering about the conservative strategy vs. risk/reward option way to go.

Becasue to many fans and people are to concerned with the off the field issues. Revevis and Browner - thats SCAAAAARYYY. I would LOVE Browner and Grimes. Bur the second Miami pulls the trigger on something like that people awould be doing war dances. Hell people are up in arms about Courtland coming ot visit and dont know ANYTHING about the guy other than a fight with AJ. The dude is a MODEL CITIZEN and GREAT in the lockeroom. Imagine Browner basically had the file a lawsuite against the NFL to play again/......

With the cape room that the Dolphins have I would take a risk on Courtland and Browner. they will come cheap and with the young WR that brady has and the Youg QB's in the AFC East..... Miami would dominate.

Couldn't agree more with you. I think we might be going a little overboard with this "model" player fear and take a couple chances on guys with talent, but something to prove. Especially if we can get a few of them at reasonable $$'s

We need to bring in a vet who can start, Browner would be amzaing. I think Patterson would be good but he cant stay healthy so its a risk.

I know it would NEVER happen but MAN - I WOULD SIGN BROWNER IN A SECOND. Coutland has somethign to prove and has a lot i the tank as well. Those 2 with Grimes....... GAME OVER!!!! I would agrue that that would be a top 3 secondary.

I think we can get Patterson back on the cheap. Sign him to a "prove it" deal and decide next year if its worth a multi year offer.
