I saw some love here for Talib, who I absolutely hate.. And it wasn't only because I saw these numbers/stats, but I never liked his game..
But anyway, forget about Talib.. After seeing the praise for him it inspired me to look for the stats regarding the CB's in this draft- at least the top ones.. And I found this stats last season)... I personally think we really need to target a corner in one of the 2nd round picks (or if we miraculously get a 1st round pick for JT, or even if we move up).
So take a look and compare.. I hope this is insightful for you all.. here we go (in no particular order)-
Terrell Thomas - Ranked ninth on the team with 45 tackles (31 solos), adding a 15-yard sack and 4.5 stops for losses of 29 yards…Caused three fumbles and recovered another…Deflected seven passes and gained 44 yards on four interception returns (11.0 avg)…Had 57 passes targeted into his area, holding the opposition to seventeen catches for 149 yards (8.76 yards per catch) and one touchdown…Only 29.82% of those throws were caught and he allowed just 2.61 yards per pass attempt.
Antoine Cason - Started all twelve games at weak-side cornerback, ranking third on the team with a career-high 71 tackles (56 solos), including a 6-yard sack and four stops for losses of 12 yards…Caused two fumbles and deflected a team-high fourteen passes…Tied Nate Ness for the team lead and both ranked second in the league with five interceptions…Gained 164 yards with two interceptions on those five pass thefts…Made 56 of his stops vs. the pass, coming up with 26 third-down hits, including six in run support…Also made one fourth-down stop and tackled the opponent four times for no gain…Made seven of his tackles inside the red zone…Of the 73 passes targeted to his area, the opposition caught 23 (31.5%) for 258 yards (11.2 avg), two touchdowns and twelve first downs (held the opposition to 3.53 yards per pass attempt)…

Started all 12 games at right cornerback for Iowa. 2nd team all Big Ten, recipient of the Coaches appreciation award. Recorded 65 tackles (42 solo)...Deflected 9 passes and ranked third in the conference with 5 interceptions for 33 return yards. His main pass coverage assignment caught a total of 15 passes for 117 yards (7.8 avg) vs. Godfrey, who saw a total of 40 balls caught in his area for 298 yards (7.45 avg)...Did not allow any touchdown receptions.
Aqib Talib - Started all year at left cornerback and also held the distinction of starting on both offense and defense in the same game vs. Kansas State…Ranked sixth on the squad with 66 tackles (42 solos), including 3.5 stops for losses of 8 yards…Deflected thirteen passes and had five interceptions, as he set a school season-record with 195 yards in returns and tied another mark with two pass thefts for touchdowns…On offense, he caught eight of thirteen passes thrown to him, good for 182 yards (22.8 avg) and four touchdowns…Also rushed once for a 6-yard loss…Returned two punts for 21 yards (10.5 avg)…Had 92 passes targeted into his area, with 47 (51%) being caught by the opposition for 459 yards (9.77-yard average per completion/4.99 yards per pass attempt) and a touchdown…
