So why is there no news about the corners?

I think there is some reason for concern at this position. Don't you? We are yonger, and youth is a good thing. My questions is can they play?

No Problemo!!!

On the Defense ,the only problem that we have is in OLB, other than that don't loss your sleep mi friend. The secondary is filled we great to good back ups no problemo in the secondary!! GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:

IMO they are an upgrade from last year. I believe Saban ( a DB specialist) feels the same.

Will Allen is gunna get some respect, better fit than Madison. Daniels is a physical corner who was a good starter his rookie year.. Out goes Howard, Poole returns. Thats another plus. Goodman can step in and look good. We drafted the best cover guy in the draft to play FS. I have no doubt R.Hill should be our SS, but even he can play corner. We are better equipped to defend the pass for the long run. I wouldn't be suprised if we drafted another Jason Allen in next years 1st round tho.

Me too. I still think OLB is our weakest poition. Mind you if we had drafted an OLB, I would be screaming for a DB right now. But J Allen has calmed me down somewhat :D

Right now we know that if Tillman, Bell, Daniels or Poole, and W. Allen start we only add one new player to the mix. That should mean some continuity to secondary from last year..but if we start W. Allen, J. Allen, Dreke or Hill, and Daniels or Poole, then we only have one left over from last year, and the secondary will have an adjustment period, learning the D and each other, so there's less stability to the situation. The 2nd year guys should be farther along in this D than the new guys, so starting the season we may have the left overs, but as the season goes on the new guys may take over. All this if it goes right means we have depth and interchangable parts..but none of this guarantees a successful secondary..but the first group offers a better chance early on.

That's all well and good... But who will emerge as the leaders in the secondary?

My point exactly. There has been no news as to who is doing what in camp/practices.

I'm just cocerned with the experience level.

That's why they play the game...but if it's the 1st tier guys I mentioned, then I expect Bell to be a leader, if it's the 2nd situation, then I expect W. Allen to be.

I agree with you guys on our only weak point being OLB. Even if we signed Seau back and picked up one of the three guys we have been talking about in the supplimental, I think there will still be a couple of issues there. Seau is too old and those guys are too young. I would have felt a super bowl commin' on had we signed Arrington, but I will be happy with a youth injection just the same.

Not to dismiss the original question but what news do you expect? We had a few days of padless off season training activities. No contact. All we could have heard, beyond worrisome injuries, was if someone looked lost. There is no practice now until camp opens. This period of non activity has all of us jumpy but there is no need for alarm.

We have four guys who have started at corner, W. Allen, Poole, Daniels, and Goodman. Three more have some promise, Mitchell, Jackson, and Lehan. Beyond that two of our leading safeties have extensive CB time, J Allen and Hill.

I want to see it all come together in camp and believe it will but we will have to wait until then for any reports that truly tell us something.

Maybe...

As complicated as the secondary schemes are, I'd rather the secondary be young and learning how the coverage is supposed to work than be set in their ways trying to understand how they fit in. Veterans are good for instincts, youngsters are good for taking instructions. I think the secondary will struggle through the first couple of games, then as they become more familiar they'll start to pick up the slack - especially when we need it.
