If a healthy Ifo Ekpre-Olomu makes the 53 man roster, how many corners would you want to keep? If Maxwell, Howard, Ekpre-Olomu, McCain, Lippett and Lucas are in the future plans for the roster does the team even have room to add a vet? Seven corners seem like too many.

I don't see us cutting lippet ekpre olomu, or McCain. I don't know much about Lucas but I have to think he may be eligible for replacement. That's about it though.

actually we still may pick up a vet like Hall (oh and hopefully Greg Hardy)

So if you add Hall are you keeping 7 corners? Maxwell and Howard are safe, so are you cutting Lippett, McCain, Ekpre-Olomu or Lucas? Seeing that you've used drat picks on Lippett, McCain and Lucas over the past 16 month you would think want to keep them around to polish them us and see what they can do.

I think based on the division and the league, you do keep a number of corners. But what if we are lacking at another position. Way too early right now. It is an answer for camp

You make a good point about numbers, but keep in mind there could be an injury along the way before we get to final cut downs, and we still need some more experience in the group.

That's the way I see it anyway, feel totally uncomfortable with the second boundary corner - it has to be a rookie or someone with very little experience as the roster stands and that scares the crap out of me let alone if let's say a Maxwell gets hurt?

You didn't even list Patmon in that group, maybe they feel like they have enough, idk. Lucas could go to the practice squad maybe.

Lucas is a longshot...easily replaceable by a starting Vet.

Lucas is probably headed for the practice squad.

I understand your trepidation...but to me its stronger than last year.

I think Lippett will surprise many this year...and has the size for the scheme.

I have to say Im looking at this season full of question marks, especially on defense, questions abound besides maybe Jones and Suh.

Questions on if Oline is improved? RB? Will QB be who we think he can be with better coaching and protection.

Im just approaching this year with zero expectations, new coaching, schemes and players etc.

Also for those who were possibly wondering about Boykin he is on the way to Atlanta for a vist. Looks like were staying with what we have at this point

Well said. I can be optimistic IF almost everything goes right, quite pessimistic if almost everything goes wrong. No one knows, yet, some don't like the question marks. Miami WILL suck this year because, well, none of the changes will work out. Or, Miami WILL do very well because it looks good on paper. This WILL BE a season influenced almost entirely by question marks. Where we differ is I have expectations. I expect games 9>16 to show more than games 1>8. I expect a better OL. I expect more emotion and intensity from the players. But, that and everything else is at the mercy of the questions.

Would need to get a look at Ifo Ekpre-Olomu before that can be answered. He has been cleared but there has to more than meets the eye with him regarding that injury. I don't know why he would have been released to begin with if he was only a month out from being cleared. It has to be a long shot. Chances are he could re aggravate the injury.

(Between Ifo and Isa Abdul-Quddus, I feel sorry for the commentators)

Last year we kept 11 DB's. The guy who can play safety as well as CB will have a better shot for the back end of the roster and we also have a few key ST players in those spots as well like Walt Aikens and Michael Thomas who also both play multiple positions at DBeven though both are poor safeties.

These 6 guys are pretty much locks...

1 Byron Maxwell
2 Xavien Howard
3 Tony Lippett
4 Bobby McCain (nickle)

1 Reshad Jones
2 IAQ

... so that leaves about 5 spots open.

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu: Nickle CB,
Walt Aikens: S & CB (I would like to see him at CB)
Michael Thomas NCB (can play S but want to only play nickle)
Jordan Lucas: CB & S (probably mostly a CB)
Tyler Patmon: CB
Chimdi Chekwa: CB
Shamiel Gary: S
AJ Hendy: S
LaFayette Pitts: CB

It seems the FO wants to get a look at these guys on the field before they bring in a vet but it's probably unavoidable. This is a VERY inexperienced group.

That's pretty scary. A CB that under-performed last year, a Rookie, and 2 pretty raw CB's in Lippett and McCain. We need some stability here so I agree a Vet is more than likely needed.

I understand where you are coming from...This is my perception:

The O-line will be better instantly with Tunsil starting....it will be even better if we get healthy years out of Albert, Pouncey & James. I expect Douglas and Turner to improve to some degree based on experience alone....so...I see an Improved O-line.

Wide receivers...I see as improved despite the loss of Matthews and here is why:

A full season of the Devante Parker we saw at last seasons end dramatically upgrades this unit....Landry will only get better as he enters his prime...Stills should be as good, maybe better. The additions of Caroo and Grant add a future starter and an explosive special use type player to the unit....I see this unit as improved.

Tannehill will be improved simply by the O-line being improved and the full season of having Devante Parker...if he also takes his game to the next level...look out. I saw an improvement in Tannehill's long ball last year.

I think Drake can do as much or more than Miller did as far as chunk yardage...and Ajayi will give us more physical running than Miller as the lead guy.

Defensively....Mario Williams is at least as good as OV...Jordan Phillips should progress from his rookie year. Linebackers looks better to me with Kiko Alonso (obviously he needs to stay healthy).

Corners are at least as good as last year...possibly even better.

And...we improved free safety.

Add in Superior coaching and scheme...and I am optimistic.
