Cortland Finnegan on Joe Rose show

I disagree I think its pretty clean, Carroll, jones, and Wilson, have all improved under Coyle.

You're right but the original post was about cast offs or free agents. We drafted all those guys and really haven't had many free agents other than Patterson for Coyle to resurrect from the dead.

Not to speak for JOHD but I think he was referring to Coyle's success in Cinny with some other teams rejects like Chris Crocker.

Other than Grimes it hasn't yet happened here.

I definitely saw improvement w. Carroll last year. Really wanted to keep him.

Some would argue when healthy Patterson was playing even better than Grimes last season.

I wanted to keep him but I guess the injury stuff was the question mark. Hope it still is for the Jets because he's a good CB when healthy.

That play pisses me off still. It was like 3rd and 17 if I recall or something like that. Is it so much to ask for a fair game to be called against them? Or how about the infamous Vernon fumble swat thing where we was clearly trying to recover it

In the Brady era, if there is a call that can go for the Pats in a crucial game, it will.

Book it.

Nolan did get better but when he had to start I cringed. With Grimes on the other side they always went after him.Patterson made them pay for that when he started.

I get what your saying.

Patterson was actually pretty phenomenal last year in the beginning of the year before the injury.

As for cortland, yeah he's a big question mark, especially when you consider how much fisher loved him and still let him go. I know hickey loved him too during his time at tb, tried to sign him. Hopefully they know something we don't, and he's ready to go back to being the cortland of old.

One thing I noticed is all our corners are really athletic, and have great ball skills. If our pass rush does it's job, these guys are going to get there hands on a lot of balls.

I'm one of the few that doesn't think Finnegan is a retread. He played poorly last year because of injuries, a broken orbital socket limiting his peripheral vision and a serious hamstring injury. He should have been on IR much sooner, but Fisher allowed him to play. As far as 2012 went, I'm not sure why he is getting a bad rap for that year. He gave up a few big plays, but that has more to do with poor execution of scheme from some of the St Louis safeties. Finnegan was asked to play run support a lot, and that puts a CB at risk unless you have good safeties, which the Rams didn't.

He eliminated AJ from the game. I'd say he did his job pretty well.

He sure did! Now considering he also got eject and his team lost 20-0. I'm not sure if it was worth it?

Jimmy Wilson drew a pass interference call on Gronk last year when he was three yards away.

If Finnegan farts in Amendola's general direction we might get contracted from the league.

Don't even want to remember that game, or hopefully experience that again. There were so many shady calls in the 2nd half of that game, it was almost sickening. At the sports bar I was at, there is a bartender who is a huge Pats fan, and even he was giving me an {I can't believe it} smile after each call.

What really upset me even more was later on when Miami had the ball, one of the receivers for Miami (I believe it was Gibson) had position on the defender, and actually got behind him, probably would have been gone, if not a huge pickup, but instead had the Patriots defender wrapped around him before the ball even was close, and no call.
