Cote: It is a strange season when fans cheer for Miami Dolphins to lose

you think luck wants to sit? I think luck wants to play, and win... Miami has the best left tackle in the league, and an upcoming talented center. We have a young Beast in brandon marshall, and a great slot receiver.. Not to mention we have a young running back that looks like his best days are ahead of him.

Luck will be drafted number one.. and i hope to god he comes to miami

Check out a song dedicated to Greg Cote on the Dan LeBard radio show site..

"There ain't nothing wrong...with a little tank for Luck." Parody of the R Kelly song.

ahhh...i see the suck for luck campaign is moving into the building...awesome...just what i've been hoping for...and spare me the i feel bad for sparano...i wish i was as bad as my job as these clowns are and still got paid millions of dollars...

some guys aren't meant to be head coaches...and sparanos one of them...hell with his oline he's assembled here hard for me to believe he should be an oline coach either

bye bye bums...i'm sure you can answer the phones for the cowboys or something

There's a fairly big difference in the #10 overall and the #1 overall.

Indeed, but all situations are different. Lets say the Dolphins were sitting at the first pick and the Jaguars are sitting at 10(which could potentially happen). It would take a incrediable argument to convince me that the Dolphins aren't the better team and are just lacking at the position that happens to be the most important in sports.

From everything that has been presented, the Luck's want to land on the team that gives them the best chance at success. Miami has alot of the pieces to the puzzle at the moment. At the very least, no team in the league could protect his blindside like we could. If he doesn't want be protected by the best left tackle in football while throwing to a former Pro-bowl wide receiver and handing off to (what appears to be) a quality back, then he's free to go to Chicago or Indy or any other team that feels like beating up a quarterback. But to me, that doesn't sound like to shabby of a deal.

Likewise compared to being mentored by PManning or JElway and working for owners/GMs like Irsay or Pat Bowlen, Ross and whomever looks like sloppy thirds :idk:

He's free to ride any bench he wants while waiting to play for a veteran team that is falling apart at the seams. I wont mind it in the least if another team feels like surrendering 2-3 first round picks and a handful of other picks for a player who has no intention of suiting up for us. We'll just find someone who will.

The grass isn't always greener, gentlemen. Their a handful of problems with this team, and they just happen to be at the most important spots. But by all accounts, those spots can be addressed and we have an owner who wants them addressed. While our owner is seemingly nieve, he isn't apathetic. Andrew Luck(and anyone else) could land at worst spots then this Miami team. If he doesn't like it, then he is free to check out a team run by Mike Brown or whatever is going on in Oakland.

Fair enough. You state a good case.

My point is that people don't operate by logic alone. I agree, even if Miami happens
to go 0fer, we've still got talent on this team.....HOWEVER....Luck may not see that.

A new HC, and, pieces in place...Not to mention, no state tax on his riches would
probably convince a smart guy to come play for Miami, and, "be the guy" right out of the chute with a new HC
that has to live with him.

so winning a few meaningless games this season is better than a shot at a superbowl in the next few seasons?right.

You think that drafting Luck gives this team a 'shot at the Super Bowl in the next few seasons'?

He may well decide he doesn't want to
play for the worst team in the NFL.

What then?

Then we trade him to the highest bidder and take Barkley/Jones or someone else like SD did with Eli. It is a win/win for us.

Anything is possible. If i recall correctly, part of Elway's complaints were moving cross country. If something like that were to occur with Luck, we'd be screwed no matter what.

We'll just have to wait and see, but i believe alot of fans are selling our team short just because we have fallen apart. This team simply hasn't been the same since week 17 of last year. And while its not the best situation, we do have alot of pieces that could appeal to young quarterbacks.

So we're sure that either of them is just as sure of a bet. All three are money superstars?

No, they aren't as sure of a bet, but this is our punishment for being a cellar dweller, some people might not want to be here and people like Luck have the power to say no and force the issue. If that happens and Luck wants no part of this organization (completely understandable), then we are forced in another direction. At that point we make a trade, take the next best QB and use the extra picks to fill other holes. I want Luck as much as anyone, but if that unfortunate senario unfolds, then we have to make the best of it.

I have no idea. heck I thought we'd make the playoffs this year. so yeah? a coach who actually knows what player progression is, the value of a franchise QB and one who knows how to the get most out of the talent he has should easily make us contenders.

I certainly agree with that.
