Matt Jones has not been running among the Jaguars' top four wide receivers during Organized Team Activities.

Troy Williamson is a fourth receiver at the moment and will be pushed by Mike Walker, who recently got healthy. Jags.com writer Vic Ketchman expects the team to keep five receivers. It doesn't look like Jones will be one of them.

If released he is defitnetly worth look. Ok, this is not another one of those lets sign this guy threads. We clearly have a weakness at reciever and Jones has the size and pontential to be good. I dont see why he has fallen out of favor in Jacksonville .

I wonder if wr D'Juan Woods made their roster because if it was me i would bring in a bus load or wide receivers to beef up the compition.

We are already looking at other teams players. Especially since we have dibs on anyone waived. Im sure the WR position could be upgraded and will be upgraded alot more.

Really tough to say with Matt Jones. Everything depends on his attitude. He seems to be taking this attitude that the Jaguars made him a first round pick so they need to open doors for him and get him the ball. That's not flying with them because they don't think he's earning it.

The wildcard is he might be forced to drop that attitude if he gets cut and some team just claims him. It's not the same anymore. If you're on a new team, they're not the team that spent a first on you. They don't have to give you jack **** as far as chances go.

because he sucks. gets hurt alot, and when he gets on the field, he's largely ineffective.

The attitude thing with us would certainly not fly, it would be a good situation for him to come to Miami. He has a former teammate and a great chance to compete. We'll see but I think he is defitnetly a player to keep an eye on.

Seriously though we have very little talent at the Reciever position and any talent out there deserves a try out.

I say we make him our TE! threat with Fasano as our Blockin TE..

and all you people saying he sucks... You forget he was a Qb in college...

I agree with you, he's a great player and makes a lot of tough catches. He has had some injuries as of late but he's far from injury prone. I've been to several Jags games and he takes and gives some pretty big hits. He always had to pull in all that garbage Leftwich used to toss. I've love to see him in Miami.

As much as you say he sucks he torched us like two years back. He is a good blocker and does make some pretty sick catches.

Matt Jones will definetley be worth bringing in. He has tremendous size and good spectacular cathing. He tends to drop one here or there, but he is better than what we have and couldn;t be worse than Hagan.

I wouldnt have a problem with picking him up, but just keep in mind, a WR added around final cuts is not going to make an impact for several weeks. He has to learn the offense (and during the season, getting the reps to do so is not easy), get comfortable with his QB and actually get the opportunity in the games.

Its not like he would come in and start (or even be the #3) until midseason at the earliest. He could be a long term fit, but I'm just saying, for this year, his impact would be minimal. Unless of course he is cut sooner, which I do not foresee.
