I am not trying to jinx anything, but I remember how stoked I was when I found out Ricky had been traded to the Dolphins in March of 2002. At the time, I thought Ricky was one of the best backs in the league and although he had some character issues, a change of scenery would do him good. Fast forward to what we know today and how all that turned out. I am just trying not to get too excited about the Culpepper deal. Could he go belly-up on us as well? I hope Saban isn't hanging too much on Culpepper and keeping an eye out for talent QB. Again, not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I hate to get all excited just to see it crash down. I have been a fan forever and have seen this before. Hopefully Daunte does well and we get Ricky back and we can pull this thread up and laugh at it someday when we are World Champs. What do you guys think?????

No, Pepper didn't have any issues until they got rid of Tice. He wanted to come to Miami anyway this is where he is from. He has a relationship with the locals. I don't think their will be many more conflicts like what Ricky had with Wanny.

No Pun Intended, But i believe DC, will turn out like Ricky Like Jimmy Johnson turned out like Don Shula... In otherwords "Not a chance"/ And i really like Ricky its just a bummer he won't be on the team to recieve his Super Bowl Ring. Next season.....

Daunte does not have a drug problem:shakeno:

and Ricky has social anxiety disorder. I can't say I know how much that would effect one's ability to play pro-football, but it's gotta be a big factor in Ricky's case. Daunte's doesn't have any character issues IMO... he was well liked as a leader in Minny but things went sour out there. The only person who has anything bad to say about C-pep is the guy who hasta justify trading a measly 2nd rounder for an All-Pro Quarterback in his prime.

I kind of understand what you are saying. Ricky and Daunte are not similar as fas as character goes at all. But they are similar in that Ricky needed a change of scenery to recharge jump start his career. He was doing ok in New Orleans but he Saints didn't draft Ricky to be an okay running back. Then he got to Miami, and really showed his true colors. Dante, on the otherhand, started off really good in Minnesota but had a tough 2005 campaign. So hopefully he, like Ricky, can recover his past form.

after what Saban has done to the qb position I can hardly believe that statement. I don't get it.

In short....... NO!!! he's stoked about playing in Miami, and C-pep doesn't have anywhere near the baggae that ricky did/does

Let me break it down for you since you cannot fathom anything bad happening... I am just being cautiously optimistic. Saban has not done anything besides Culpepper as far as I am concerned. I don't think Harrington is any better than Gus. That is why I started this thread. I hope I cleared that up for you.

Culpepper and Ricky came in two different reasons.

The Saints didn't like how Ricky present himself because they thought he was strange and though he could quit at any moment. They already had a young back in Duece and they thought he can could do just as good as Ricky did. Ricky was also injury prone and couldn't last a whole season. But he proved them wrong we when got him.

Culpepper didn't want to be with the Vikings no more and it just wasn't a good fit. They didn't have any faith in him and he felt the organization didn't give him the boost of confidence that he should be getting as a player on that team. He wanted a fresh start in his career and Saban was more then happy to give him that chance. And he doesn't have a drugh history problem like Ricky had.

So as you can see, both of them came in for a totally different reason.
