Could Hickey be waiting for DeSean Jackson to get released?

6'5" 240 and runs 4.5s. That is pretty fast for a guy that size. I would call that freakishly fast. Moss was quite a bit faster. But, he wasn't that big either.

He ran a 4.61 at the combine. So no.

We can also add to this that he had a poor vertical, and jumped less than 10', which is frankly embarrassing for a guy his height. He bobbles catches when he doesn't catch with his body either. None of these things are like Randy Moss, in fact they'd be the opposite of Randy Moss. Let's give up on this comparison.

Haven't we learned yet that Miami's FO ... no matter who it is ... doesn't go after offensive playmakers. Wallace is the only one in upteen years it seems. We've had time to do so but haven't.

Is someone actually comparing Benjamin to Moss.....Moss is on a completely different level and considered to be one of the 3 best WR to ever play the game...

Brandon Marshall wasn't a playmaker? The trade for Ricky Williams didn't bring a playmaker? Ricky was darn near 60% of the offense under Wannstedt.

I can agree that Ireland never drafted a playmaker...didn't know how...but I think you're going a little too extreme here.

Atleast on two occasions he thought he could get certain playmakers later in the draft.

Both of those players were traded for. I'm speaking FA signings. Wallace comes to mind because his contract is so huge and his signing is so recent. But typically we don't sign FA playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.

He had one guy time him at 4.61 and several others in 4.5s. I would take the collective over the one guy who gets called "official". The official time has become slow over the last few years. I don't take any stock in the "official" times nowadays. So yeah, he runs in the 4.5s. The pro day will surely be in the low 4.5s for him.

But, I agree. Outside of physical gifts like height and top end speed, you certainly can't compare Benjamin to Moss at this stage. Moss was more fluid, more top end speed and a better playmaker. But, I'm sure Benjamin and his handlers would love to compare himself to Moss. Anything to raise his draft stock. But, he isn't someone Miami should be looking at unless he drops. There are far more important positions of need in the first round where he will likely be drafted.

No, he doesn't run in the 4.5s. Hand times are usually faster than the official times. Problem with hand times is that they are inaccurate. Official times are electronic. Believe what you want to believe, just know it's based on inaccurate data. Pro days are also usually faster, and are also an inaccurate rep of times because they are hand timed.

Some have been questioning why we have so much cap space and not going after any big names.

We have a BIG cap hit coming in 2015, so there really are not as many bucks as people assume.

Hickey has been bargain shopping for a reason.

Moss is 6'5 and ran in the low 4.3's that's a huge difference, a more apt comparison would be Calvin Johnson. Johnson looks fluid and Benjamin does look like he is kinda clumsy but it doesnt matter if he scores lol.
