The Dolphins have already decided that Mueller will stay.(hypothetically)

They have locked in Jason Garrett as the OC.(hypothetically again)

And Capers is the DC and assistant HC (Has he signed that ding dang extension yet?)

Now they are trying to find a candidate who can live with that.

Could it be that is the reason Mike Shula has emerged?

If someone already had the same thought in another thread. Sorry I missed it.

Whatcha think?

It makes some sense. How many coaches will want to come in without any real say on who will be running the offense and defense. Not many.

I listened intently to the Dolphin Show on 790 am with Joe Bailey & Bryan Wiedemeier (the 2 guys doing the selection process) and they are 2 of the most clueless guys I've ever heard! They're conducting the search as if they're HEADHUNTERS looking for an EXECUTIVE. tHEY'RE APPROACH is something out of a corporation 101 manual. They're looking for someone to come in and knock their socks during the interview process and that's it. Experience, track record, body of work mean very little. They are so ego driven that their main goal is to "unearth" some unusual, unique corporate innovator that they can hire as a Head Coach. My goodness, this is a football team that needs a football coach that has a track record of some kind of success and wants to be here! They are complicating the crap out of it and that's why we are one of the laughingstocks of the league! :rolleyes2

I 100% agree.

I think hiring Mike Shula as our head coach is like giving your 16 year old son a 1967 Shelby GT500 right after he got his drivers liscense!

I have been a Fins fan since the mid 70's. This situation is sad. No way no how do we want Mike Shula. No offense to Pop. We also can do a lot better than Chan. Iam a Clemson fan and have seen him up close. Not very good. Clemson is not either but I dont want Tommy Bowden as the next fins coach as well.

Exactly, no offense to the Don, or Mike for that matter. There is no way he is ready to step in to this situation the way everything has unraveled lately. We need some experience.

I'm sorry, I love Coach Shula and the legacy he's created for our organization, but, hiring Mike Shula is the LAST THING we should even consider. He was horrible as the OC in Tampa, he was average at best at Alabama and I just don't see him as the answer here.

If these rumors about hiring Shula or Chan to keep the seat warm for Cowher are true, I don't see this as a totally bad move. I mean it could work out..who knows

I dont think we are getting rid of Mularkey, the guy has been a good coordinator and I would give him one more year with a new coach. He coordinated alot of very good offensive Pittsburgh teams. I just don't see garret replacing this guy this season and i'm sure he would already be fired if that was the case. If Gaily comes aboard I think Mularkey stays period.

Gaily is not keeping any seat warm guaranteed.
