Just read on yahoo sports that Priest Holmes may retire as early as Tomorrow. He has a lump on his spinal cord and could be paralyzed if he continues playing, anyway, Would a ricky trade in the offseason be considered or are they confident in Larry Johnson.

p.s. I was sorry to hear about Priest he was one of the few "good guys" left in the game at that level of stardom.

Thats awful for Priest, I liked him, sad news. I think KC is happy having Larry Johnson though.

I'm sure they are pretty confident in Larry Johnson to take over, that's why they drafted him in the first place. So, I doubt they would take Ricky or even want him for that matter.

Ricky needs to go to a team that badly needs a RB (cough, Arizona, cough, 49ers, cough, hack, cough)

That is really too bad with Priest btw, he was one of the few good guys in the NFL. I wish him all the best.

You just made this theory up about Ricky trade, right? You had to, because it makes absolutely no sense for them to even fathom wanting Ricky.

With that said, haven't heard this yet about Priest. I knew he had a concussion but I didn't know about "teh lumpage"

Honestly I don't see johnson as a 30 carry back or a 3 down back, He played well against the Raiders but that D is terrible. I view jonhson as a change of pace guy.

Link?

Thats awful about priest! He is one of my favorite players! He is truly a "team" player.

People should want to keep Ricky. It seems many people want to trade him. Just look how easily a RB can go down. Why would you want to get rid of him? It is too hard to get good players as it is.

It was reported last night on local KC news. There is a press conference set for today which is either to refute the rumor, or announce his retirement.

from another board:
"At 10 PM Central NBC News led off with a story about news on RB Priest Holmes. Jack Harry, Sports Director for that station reported that he spoke with two higher sources within the Chiefs organization and they have said that Priest Holmes indeed may retire as early as tomorrow. In Florida today, Holmes was getting a 3rd opinion on the hit he took from SD DE Shawn Merriman two weeks ago. Apparently what has been found is a lump on or within Priest's spine and if he were to take one more big hit, he could face paralysis."

"Alright...810 radio in KC is reporting the Chiefs are going to hold a press conference today. My guess is to either squash or confirm the rumors about Priest retiring...we should know today."

Thanks for the info.

And like you said...K.C. won't be interested in R.W. why? So they can piss off L.J. again? I have a feeling that R.W. will stay in Miami for one or maybe two more years and then probably retire.

Go Fins!!!

When did all this "trade Ricky" talk start again, anyway? I guess I missed it. Even if Saban wanted to trade Ricky (I don't belive he does but Nick has proven to be very unpredictable), we would never get anywhere near his true value. Ricky is a gamble, I joint away from a suspension, teams don't give much for players like that.

Stop it with the trade Ricky threads. Ricky and Ronnie will be lethal to defenses for years to come.

Wow, that blows. He's such a great RB and seems to be a nice guy. THis is from a hit? Wow. I was unaware a hit could could such damage. Is that a fractured vertebrae or something?

As for Ricky. I really wish people would get off of the 'trade Ricky' bandwagon.
