Could Manning & Phins already have a deal in place?

This doesn't surprise me a bit after reading your original post. Little to no thought made it in that post, and you followed it up with the same in your 2nd post.

Manning gains NOTHING by not shopping his services. 12 teams have made initial contact in regards to their interest in him. 12...that we know of. What about the odd 2-5 who are sitting on the sidelines waiting to make their play? Manning loses out by being narrow minded and not weighing all his options. Tunnel Vision is never good. But go ahead and push these fantasy scenario's.

And risking a 1st rounder for a 36 yr old is silly to be nice about it. Especially for a guy who will consider ALL his options.

Maybe Peyton is not in it just for financial gain???? Maybe he wants to control where he wants to go and go to a place where he feels he can win...he is already a multimillionaire and if he was a greedy guy he wouldn't have restructured his contract numerous times over the years to help the Colts out. How many teams have gotten caught tampering in NFL history and been fined or lost picks? Jeff Ireland was in Indy last month for the Combines. I am sure he would have easily been able to meet with Manning's agents and reps.

Sounds like a deal could be made really soon if it hasn't been already -

NFL Rumors: Peyton Manning to Decide on Team Quickly

Now that Peyton Manning is officially a free man, the sports world is sure to run rampant with rumors concerning his future destination. While a long, drawn-out spectacle would become tiring to hear about, we may not have to deal with that. It appears that Manning and his camp want to make a decision on where he plays in 2012 within the next week , according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

That means all the wild speculation about where the four-time MVP will end up could possibly be muted very soon. The article linked above claims that 12 teams have reached out to Manning's representatives already, and also notes that he would prefer to continue playing in the AFC.

I believe the Miami Dolphins are the perfect fit for Manning. The Dolphins are in need of a quarterback, have $10.2 million of salary cap money available and could even have more if guys like Jake Long, Brandon Marshall or Karlos Dansby agree to restructure their contracts..........

If it's not a done deal before the start of free agency i think they'll move on to Flynn

Personally i'm hoping tomorrow morning Manning is a Dolphin.

Think about it.......

If you are Peyton Manning, who is a perfectionist, and you knew a couple months ago that you had virtually no chance of going back to the Colts, wouldn't you start making plans to go to the team you wanted. Granted, Peyton Manning didn't know whether he would be able to overcome some of his neck and shoulder injuries, but deep down he had to know his neck was getting better and he would likely be able to play again.

I think it is highly likely that Peyton's agent and Ross's lawyers probably met secretly somewhere during the past couple months and worked out a deal. When Peyton stopped the mini-van yesterday and was asked whether he was going to play for Miami, Peyton said, "I don't know which teams are interested in me, or how this process works.....I just know Reggie Wayne lives here and I am working out with him." WINK, WINK....sorry but that just seems like a little white lie to me.

If Peyton was flying all around meeting with the Cardinals, Jets, Texans, etc., I would buy his story but there doesn't seem to be any urgency on his part or the Dolphins to meet up. Why is that? You would think with free agency starting next week that Peyton would be meeting with other GM's, UNLESS he already knows where he is going.....TO MIAMI.

Thoughts???

i can tell you this that peyton manning is a very smart guy and i know that these thoughts did come to mind while rehabbing and waiting to the deadline 28 mil bonus so imo it could have happen.
