A question I have asked myself the last two days is if Miami like last year knows something we dont. Jason Allen last year filled the Nickle position nicely. He had a real nice game against Lee Evans and Brand Marshall before being torched by Moss and having a wrist injury. I know Miami went on to plug Nathan Jones after Allen was healthy, but something I have noticed from prior tapes was that Allen wore a cast till the last game of the season. Miami used Culver as their Dime Corner. With the signing of Gibril Wilson and resigning of Bell Jason Allen will be going into his second year as a corner. I have been one of Allen's biggest critics, but could have the Trifecta seen something in him they liked.

Miami will clearly draft a corner in this year's draft. They have been looking alot at the position even more than WR, OLB or DT. I think Miami could try to sign a guy like Green, Draft a Corner and Allen could step it up. No matter what my opinion of Allen ( which has not been very nice) the guy has played good when given time. He has a total of 118 tackles 8 pass def and 5 ints. Those are good numbers for a Backup, ST player which is what he has been most of his career.

Remember the Trifecta kept Hush Hush about alot of injuries last year and for the first time in his career as a Dolphins Allen will remain at one position which is Corner.

this will be Jason Allen's breakout year
yes, I think the FrontOffice holds him high regard & his coaches are busy working with his considerable raw talent. the guy is a serious athlete. he can be coached up to be an excellent corner. having said that; I believe this is a make or break season for Jason, he won't be back if he doesn't do something special this year.

I hope not this year it will be:

Torched by Moss
Torched By Owens
Torched by Evans
Torched by Wayne
Torched by Brees and CO
Torched by Steve Smith
Torched by Andre Johnson
Torched by Ward/HOlmes

I see for some reason you just found confidence in this pig, but n matter how much lipstick we slap on it this is still a PIG. I can easily see this guy getting torched for 20+ TD's this year!!!

I'm really starting to think so. They didn't worry too much about re-signing Goodman and they wouldn't even pay McFadden for a mere 2 years. I think their plans are to draft someone at either 25 or 44, then extend W. Allen's contract and have a nice group of CBs with J. Allen, high pick, W. Allen, Jones, and Thomas. There's no reason to believe that group couldn't succeed behind a good pass rush along with an above average duo of safeties. I can't wait to see who the FO choses as the stud CB for this team. Could be Butler, Davis, Smith, or even V. Harris (VT connection). Regardless, I think Jason Allen has a future starting spot at CB and I do believe the front office does too.

The mysterious enigma that is Jason Allen.

I give him one more year. He has flipped flopped more positions than a playboy bunny at Hef's mansion.

There's no doubt he has skills but he struggles in the classroom. He may need one more year in a stable environment. He needs to stay at corner and work on his technique. If he had been wearing a cast 'til the last week, it will explain a lot. Player's are meant to play through injuries and this team officially doesn't comment on injuries, taking a "you will see on gameday" approach with the media. Tough to know whether the FO is high on him but he's young, has size, some talent and seems coachable....so who knows?

Look I have never liked Jason Allen and I hated when Saban picked him over Cromartie and Mangold, but truth is Miami has to see something in this guy when he is still on the team.

Nobody seems to say that we kept 1/2 of our Secondary in Allen and Bell and that we upgraded huge at FS. Wilson is light years better than Hill. Miami is seriously targeting Sean Smith and Butler and NathanJones and Tyrone Culver were real good last year at Nickle and Dime. I think pickingup a corner in FA and drafting another Corner high this team could really have a nice secondary next year.

I was wondering if maybe they think Nathan Jones can hold down the fort until a rookie comes up to speed

I just don't think Jason Allen has the brains for the NFL. He has the physical tools with his height, weight, speed and athleticism but something is missing and I think he can't grasp the mental aspects of the game. This is a make or break year for him imo. He won't be here in 2010 if he doesn't step it up in 09'

Yeah - Jason Allen was the team's 4th corner in their playoff game vs Balt. And since then, somehow, Allen is suddenly a budding star - right? Is that what you're saying?

Give me a frickin break, dude

When you look at our current group of CBs ....there isn't a single CB (Will Allen included) you would want to see covering T.O. or even Randy Moss.

I know Jones can play Nickle, and I think that is where they will keep him. The kid Blitzs real nice and he did a real nice job when we plug him at nickle. they will defitnetly be drafting a Corner and could possibly add one in the coming days.

Look at our ragtag group of cornerbacks we currently have:

Will Allen
Jason Allen
Nate Jones
Will Billingsley
Scorpio Babers
Joey Thomas

Will Allen is by far the best and he certainly isn't anything special. That is why we need a MAJOR infusion of talent at the position or we'll be torched all season long.
