It’s been a bear market for Percy Harvin for the past month or so, with his stock dropping like a stone.

A 12 on the Wonderlic test and a failed test for marijuana at the scouting combine, coupled with some nagging injuries in Gainesville and doubt that he’s a polished enough wide receiver to step in immediately, have seemingly caused a bunch of teams to cool on Harvin.
Some people wonder if Harvin will even go in the first round of this weekend’s draft, though that might be a bit extreme.

But if Harvin makes it past a few teams that need a big-play wide receiver, including the Jets at No. 17 and the Vikings at No. 22, the Dolphins could have an interesting decision to make at No. 25.

“He is the most explosive player in this draft by far,’’ Mike Ackerley, the Titans’ director of college scouting told The Tennessean in Friday’s editions. “I know he has problems and that probably is going to hurt his draft status a little bit, but there is no doubt in my mind that … he can do the things he needs to do to be a top receiver in this league.’’
One man’s opinion, but likely the same one of just about every team in the league, including the Dolphins.

You never know. I was pretty shocked when I heard Theodore Ginn's name. The worst I felt was when I find out the guy from Tenn that we drafted was Eddie Moore lol.

I consider him a turd. I hope Parcells does not bring him in unless he's where he deserves to be......an UDFA. Then..Hey, bring him into camp but, be prepared because pot means more to him than football.

Remember Sparano saying something about no druggies??? Don't see the Vikes taking him considering all the problems theyve had in the past....the titan drafted pacman...if they're over that maybe they'll do it.

I rather have Pat White than Harvin...white can do many things to help a team...and no baggage!

who cares if the dude smokes some weed. from our perspective, of course, we can't take a chance on another pothead. but in the scope of the nfl, i honestly doubt harvin trades in his cleats for a bong like our beloved stick icky ricky did.

Harvin has lots of things not in his favor, bein a pothead, history of FL wideouts being crap, and imo he doesnt have a real position....reggie bush 2.0

I want nothing to do with Percy Harvin. It's clear where his priorities are, and it isn't football.
I don't agree, but there lies the problem. I think Percy's No.1 priority is football because he has nothing else. He is no rocket scientist and I am sure that the hardest course he ever took at Florida was "underwater basket weaving" or it's equivalent to keep him eligible. That comment coupled with the moronic decision to fire one up when he knew he was going to be tested, either shows a total disregard to what would happen with that decision or a total lack of intelligence or both.

After reading what some fellow Gator Fans had to say about the real reason he was not playing in the games he missed at UF, I have a different perspective on him. Urban Meyer does not like to hang his laundry out in the air of public opinon. Percy, along with teammate Tory Davis, have missed multiple games over the last couple of seasons. Tory Davis, like Percy, is a talented player. But while with Percy it was always reported as an injury that was keeping him out of the line up, Tory was known to have not gone to class and that was the reason for his disciplinary action. Although Urban Meyer was pretty tight lipped on the subject, saying only that it was matter of getting his priorities right. It was filtered through the grapevine that he was not the most diligent when it came to his studies. But unlike Percy, Tory plays a position that UF has alot of guys that can do the same thing that Tory does(Marsh, Trattou, etc).

With Percy, that is not the case. Although I think there is another player on the team, Deonte Thompson or possibly freshman Andre DeBose, that could approximate the same role as Percy. I don't think that they can duplicate what Harvin did. The guy is that special.

I don't blame Meyer for trying to protect the most valuable asset of the team. When I say that, I am aware that Tim Tebow is on the team. As stated earlier Meyer is a pretty closed lipped coach. You are not going to get alot out of him. He is not going to talk about internal problems. UM is in the business of winning games. So when problems arose with Percy he took action and suspended him from games and covered it up with saying it was an injury. He didn't want anything to distract from what he was trying to accomplish by having the teams MVP hung up in some kind of scandal.

Bottom line. Percy is a moron for what he has done. I think that his priority is football, but he has been coddled so much that he figures that someone will come to his rescue and all will be well as it has in the past. Someone will probably pay him alot of money to play in the NFL, but that is when reality begins. He'll get to the Pros and find out that he is no longer atop the totem pole. There is not going to be anyone there to catch him if he really screws up in the real world.

Let's see.
12 on the Wonderlic
Smokes Dope
History of Florida recievers
Already have similar player (maybe not exactly the same)
We need a big reciever
Need more defense ( CB, OLB, NT)

We would not, could not sign him in a box, would not could not sign him with a fox.....

No

I really wish this guy wasn't such a knucklehead...if he didn't fail his drug test at the combine, he would probably be picked ahead of our spot and push more talent down the draft. I like his skills and what he would bring to the team in terms of explosiveness, but I worry that he may bring the wrong kind of explosiveness.

@nd round steal, draft defense in round one and Percy with our 2nd round pick from Skins.
