Could Philip Rivers be the next Miami QB?

I really don't that that we are interested in him. One statement that I agree on is that he doesn't really fit into our offense that well. IMO, the Jets and Cards are in front of the line to get him.

It seems im the only one that wouldnt mind having Rivers. I don't think his arm strenght is that bad. Why don't people like him?

It says right in the article that the Jets don't really have a good enough salary cap to afford him. We will see though...

He very possibly could be but I dont think he could Because A while ago I think I heard something saying they werent interested in him.

We will be looking for mobile types with athleticism IMO.

most people i know are saying that the dolphins would be better served naming sage the starter then giving a fortune for rivers. :byroan:

I agree.

However, come draft day, if no one is on the board I think we'll make a trade for Rivers if he is available.

The good thing about Rivers is that he has already been paid the majority of his contract. He will only count for less than 1 million per year for the next 2-3 seasons. It would still leave us with plenty of cap room for other positions.

But, I'm in favor of drafting a QB early. I like V. Young, I think he fits Linehan's system well.

In my opinion i dont think the dolphins would be interested in him they seem to be more interested in brady quinn but history shows that we been doing trades with the chargers in the past 2 years:seau in 2003, boston in 2004, and lemon in 2005.

I think it all depends on what Miami has to give up to get Rivers, but it would probably be best to just draft their own QB. Rivers hasn't proven much since he got to the NFL and during pre-season, he was actually outperformed by Lemon.

Now he might actually turn out to be another Tom Brady or whatever, but for now I don't see any reason to risk a lot to bring this guy onboard.

I agree, It would kinda make sense for the jets since they are used to an offense built around Chads arm anyway.
