Just thinking.. What if A. Peterson fell to us at 9. Could anyone here see a scenario where we take him, and Mueller pulls a ricky williams type trade on us. Where he moves R. Brown for a pair of 1st rounders. I would not be happy with this idea, because i love Ronnie... but i was wondering.. Maybe R. Brown is a Saban guy and not a Mueller guy.. Kinda the way Ricky was a Ditka guy, and Mueller went for Duece the next year. Any thoughts on something like this happening..

You Know i was thinking about this!! Ronnie with a great O-Line can do wonders!!

But if we do get 2 1st rders for next year!!! Ill be happy!!! Adrian Peterson is a great RB

he wouldnt be traded this year no matter what........

adrian would have to prove himself to be a great back, and ronnie would have to have a high trade value, and then maybe next year something could happen....

WOOW Imagine!!! 3 1st rders next year!!! Crazyyyy!!! We can than trade up to get brohm!!

You need to think about what your saying.. How can that happen ? In all seriousness dude, a team would need to have 2 first round picks next year to give to Miami in that scenario.. And that just doesnt happen often..

New England is one team this season that has 2 picks in the 1st round, yes .. But it doesn't happen often. And on top of that the team would need a RB and hope they dont have RB concerns.. And then, they would have to REALLY like Ronnie to boot..

In other words, slim to none chance !!

I'd give up two 1st round picks for Ronnie Brown yesterday. But who would pay that? If you could find a sucker, then make it happen!!

I think if anything happens, Ricky would be the one traded, not Ronnie. If Peterson falls to #9 and is the BPA at the time, then without a doubt we draft Peterson, and then he replaces Ricky. Now dont get me wrong, i want Ricky back as he and Ronnie are a very good RB 1-2 punch. But if we were to take Peterson, then i could understand why Miami would get rid of Ricky. As for Ronnie, i dont see Miami trading him.

It would be worth it for two first round picks. Especially if Miami kept Ricky to split the carries with A. Peterson. But Ronnie Brown is gonna be a beast for the next 6 - 7 years at least.

I mentioned this possibility in the Ricky/Linehan thread yesterday. Almost word for word actually.

As the 2nd player drafted overall...Ronnie Brown is a BUST.

Saban made the rookie mistake of falling in love with ONE player based on a narrow criteria...he played against RB and beat up his defense.

No game breaking impact.
Mediocre pass recieving skills.
Not an everydown back, needs to be spelled.
Does not "scare" defenses nor causes specific game planning to defend him.

A second player taken must be a "critical threat" in order to justify his #2 selection. RB's have historically been taken in later drafts with signinficant success.

Miami's woes are found in past drafts...this year will be critical and it's why I am convinced Miami will NOT draft Quinn even if available. Quinn is not a day one starter in Miami.

Green will be a phin, C-pep will be gone, RW will be here because his contract value is too high.

Dolphins 9-7 next year

Name one player in that draft that made a considerable contribution to his team besides Merriman.that draft had to be one of the worst in years to have a top pick.

I wouldn't come right out and call Ronnie a BUST, at least not yet.
1. He is only going into his 3rd year.
2. He is already on his 2nd coach, (Hasn't helped Chambers any with all the OC he has gone through)
3. Horrible O-line
