You guys can rip me for this but its kool. Roth could lose a few pounds and make the transition to LB. I know he may not have the cover skills but he seems to be able to learn and he would not initally have to go against a 300 plus lb. lineman when the play starts. Roth may have been a slow starter but he has shown potential and he could be a large LB in Saban's defensive system. Ok now you can tell me that I am wrong. :dolphins::dolphins::dolphins::dolphins:

im not sure about roths speed....but he does have the motor for it

maybe on running downs...too slow for pass coverage.

No he is more of a Power guy and does not have the speed to be LB.

Roth will be fine at DE..IMO. I don't think he has the speed to be OLB. Not a terrible thought though.

Not likely. Roth isnt particularly slow for a 3-4 OLB, but he doesnt really have the skills nessicary.

If we are to take cues from how Roth was used last season, it's likely he ends up bulked up into the 280+ pound range and playing the same role Kevin Carter does in our defense.

Hell, why not put Keith Traylor at cornerback

Fun Fact- Keith Traylor came into the NFL as a 260 pound middle linebacker.

Could he? Dunno? With Capers' influence this offseason there could be a few surprises.

I know he began his career at Iowa at Middle Linebacker. As far as speed goes, he certainly isn't a speed DE, but he is about the same as Crowder, and is faster and bigger than Turner.

I would like to see what he could do in the middle.

IMO i think he will eventually end up taking Carter's place. He seems too slow for OLB. But then again who knows.
