Could The Dolphins OL Be Worse This Year?

cant argue with you ktown but i think albert is a much bigger upgrade than youre making him out to be. im trying to stay positive man in hoping smith turns into a player and martin(if hes there) has an excellent rookie season. we're due to hit on a 1st round pick sometime in my lifetime.

IT seem this thread is getting off the topic ...
Maybe this will help

I guess an argument can be made that it's possible for the OL next season to actually be worse. - at least 4 notches worse!

However considering the Advanced NFL stats objectively rank free-fall from #6 in '12 to #28 in '13, it's incredible RT17 actually demonstrated marked improvement. :idk:

I agree with your sentiment Vaark. We sucked colossally last season. We were utterly inept in run blocking except when we sprung an extra OL or used a TE as an extra battering ram FB and other one - game gimics. And our pass protection was the worst in the league. I agree with all of that.

But I can not really take those ranking in good faith. I mean, San Fran is 31st!?!?!? I'd say that is the best OL in football. New England is 24th? That's an awesome OL and probably top 5 as well. Seattle is ranked poorly too (21st). I realize these are mainly run blocking lines, but IMHO, somewhere these metrics are off.

Your point remains a strong one though, as every ranking would show last year's Miami OL as one of the very worst.
