I know it's early and we have a long way to go yet but it's being reported that Julius Pruitt has looked the best at the reciever position so far. I've always been a bit intrigued by what we has to offer and I was just wondering if anyone feels this system will be a good fit for him and allow him to possibly make the team and be a contributer this year. I would welcome anyones thoughts on this subject.

I am hoping that anyone of these guys we have been carrying on the roster at the WR spot will step up and become the play maker we need them to be.

Yeah, I would have to agree. I don't realy care if it's Wallace, Pruitt, Moore, or anyone else for that matter, I would just like to see more explosion on the outside.

Why according to most of the posters and the entire league we have no chance at a decent Wr these season. Everyone on our roster is a scrub! No B.M thus doom and gloom we might as well not throw the ball this season.

He was a "raw" WR from a school even smaller than GATES's ABILENE CHRISTIAN, w/good hands, very respectable size, and a 4.41/4.42 "forty". If he and GATES (or MOORE or WALLACE, for that matter) have "arrived", it makes our WRs a strength: and if any 3 of them have arrived, then we wasted at least 2 late-round draft picks trying to fill a perceived "need" which was actually no need at all--just an illusion.

I really believe that this will turn out to be the case, and that at least 2 and probably 3 have "arrived". After all, we traded B MARSHALL for "peanuts", and in a year where the WR class was incredibly good and deep, we chose NOBODY until very late.
It made no sense to ME at the time, but if we have a couple of WRs w/talent in the process of "arriving" as NFL WRs, then it makes perfect sense. It's also a further testimonial to IRELAND, who had to be behind the choices, because PARCELLS = slow motion, and would be elated w/the next ORANDE GADSEN, or that big, oversized slouch that we picked up from J'VILLE (his name escapes me), or maybe the next FRED BILETNIKOFF or RAY BERRY.

What does that statement "so far" mean? Are you watching the WRs all getting together on the beach running patterns or something...

Pruitt was getting talked about last year too, until the pads went on. Reminds me a lot of Armstrong who had great speed and looked really good in shorts but when the pads went on he disappeared.

When I start hearing about someone doing well in shells then I just disregard it.

We really need 1-2 of these guys to step it up this year. Either Pruitt, Marlon or Wallace. Breakout season out of any of these guys and we'll be in good shape.

Well the lights have come on for Armstrong as he's one of the deadskins better receivers and now has RG3 throwing to him...so yea they do finally get it at some point and pruitt has been in the dev catagory for awhile..

I would rather have five receivers catch 20 balls with no drops that have BM catch two and drop three. I just don't get this #1 thing. Why must we have a number one receiver. Of course we will have a #1 every single game. That will be the guy that catches the most balls for the most yards in each game. I say any team that can put guys in the game that hold onto balls thrown at them will be successful. We already have good hands in Bess and Hartline. So any additional reliable hands will be a upgrade.
We don't need one guy to do what 3 or 4 can do. The end is still the same. Catches and yards. Beside BM was supposed to be the YATC receiver. He never was.

Armstrong was a one-year wonder for the deadskins.. They figured him out... He is terrible against press coverage!!!

Well, he's never enamored me, but it does appear that the brain trust is banking on a couple of guys like Cunningham, Pruitt, Moore, Wallace, Fuller, etc to have breakout years. We'll have to wait and see...

Armstrong had 7 receptions for 103 yards on the SEASON. He was so good the Redskins signed Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan.
