With the latest info on Pennington. Is there anyone who thinks if Pennington is brought in to be the bridge until Henne takes over, that we would keep McCown, Henne, & Pennignton. Would a west coast team that basicly lives by the checkdown and short passes, would be willing to trade a 6th or 7th rounder for beck, or possibly a young player in a postion of need ?

Could prolly get a 2nd round pick from either Cam Cameron or Rick Speilman.

Beck has zero value right now. Our best hope is that some other coaching staff liked Beck in the draft and thinks he might be worth bringing in to stash on the roster. I just don't see anyone giving up a draft pick.

We should try and showcase him in the first 2 preseason games and hopefully he can finaly due something to spark some interest ?

He doesn't have zero value, but the reality is a draft pick has to actually show some things out in public to be an attractive trade target. He's in his second week of training camp in his second year of his career, he hasn't had much chance to show much of anything so why would we try and ditch? Makes zero sense, really.

He''s 2 years older now, and he was an old(er) player than normal to be drafted. He hasn't proven to anyone that he is capable of starting, or capable of backing anyone up. You can't just give up on the guy and let him go. You can''t trade him for much either becuase he hasn't proven to be successful.

I think if Miami was to bring Pennington in, he would be competing with McCown and you would see 4 QB's in camp. It wouldn't be Beck's job in jeapordy.

I doubt we could get much. If Pennington comes true, the more realistic scenario is that we hold McCown and Beck until someone gets injured in training camp, and then deal one.

Why in gods name would you keep McCown and Pennington on the same roster? It's the same means to an end only Pennington is much better than McCown.

Becasue the reality is he is never going to be the starter for this team, he was a nice off season story throwing all his balls and all, but the fact is he does not fit Bill's prototype. He just worked to hard in the off season for Bill to not give him a shot. If Pennington is brought in he will be the stop gap and Henne the future. Beck will def be the odd man out

I think our best hope is to let him get his reps and see what we have over the next few years. Not sure why some are in a rush to get rid of the guy so soon? I'm not suggesting he can play or he can't because that's yet TBD, only that the most value to the team is leaving him where he is and finding out.
