1. Watching ESPN, TJ gave his game ball to Philbin saying he just lost his father and the team responded by playing its best game of the year. Also said something along the lines of "that's a team that puts it all out there for their head coach."

2. Tannehill already has more rushing yards through eight games than he's had during a full season the last two years.

3. Reshad Jones got some negative vibes after saying he was playing like the best safety in the league. He was absolutely instrumental to the defense Sunday and he's playing at a pro bowl level since his return from suspension.

One stat i saw sunday on tv that i wasnt aware of is that the dolphins lead the NFL in points scored on first drive of second half. Had no idea.

2 stats I saw:

During their three-game winning streak, the #Dolphins' defense is allowing just nine points per game.

The #Dolphins have been very good at halftime adjustments. They've outscored opponents 94-38 in third quarters this season.

Also this is the first time we have been 5-3 since 2003. Anybody know the last time we won 4 in a row?

Did we win 4 in a row in 08 to go to the playoffs? To lazy to look it up.

Reshad Jones is playing better than he did in 2012 when he got that new contract from Ireland. The time away has definitely had an effect on him in a positive way. He's playing with passion and excitement. Him and Delmas together also make a very good tandem.

Oddly enough, I brought this up in a preseason thread. It's a trend that has carried on from last year. The Dolphins were #1 in points scored in the 3rd quarter last year. They just seem to jell right after their half time adjustments. Good stat to have.

I'm pretty sure we did. We started the season 0-2, so we ended the season 11-3. You'd think there'd be a 5 game win streak in there somewhere.

Also, this defense ranks 4th out of the 32 NFL teams in fewest points allowed. This once decent defense has turned into a top tier unit.

Dolphins have scored 24 plus points in five straight games. The last time they did that was in 1997.

I totally understand winning one for the coach, but I also am the prick who would say "who has to die next week to get the same effort?"

I am a ****ty person who usually keeps the ****ty stuff to myself, but it still begs the question did they hate Philbin when they lost to KC and Buffalo? don't understand beating Rivers like a rented goalie and losing to also-rans. Never believed in this "bulletin-board material" stuff because I thought these guys would want to be Cam Wake dedicated every week. if someone is going to kick your ass you only care when someone's father dies? I don't want anyone to lose their father, but why is that the determining factor for whether the man across from you bests you after preparing 5-6 days? that is what great about the NFL, you think you know but you don't and you never will

I'm betting you are a lot of fun to hang out with......

Scoring well to open the third quarter is a sign of solid coaching. Adjustments get made and they are effective.
