First off I'd just like to mention a positive. Last year when we opened the season vs Washington, we looked old and slow late in the 4th quarter and in OT. This didn't happen yesterday, the team didn't look worn down.

Also please quit talking about arm strength until our WR's are OPEN downfield and underthrown.

Agree with you completely. The difference between us last year and this year is that our defense was able to come up with key stops in the 4th quarter to keep us in the game. I like the direction of this team, we will be nothing more then a 5 or 6 win team. But this is the pain of rebuilding.

i think we look young and thats a good thing.
i am very confident in this team. that last drive i really thought the game was ours. cant throw that ball on 3rd down, just cant do it. swing ricky around the end (kinda like the play two plays earlier) and let him do his thing.

You got to look at it this way, we're young and we're making mistakes in all aspects of the game. You can fix mistakes but you can't teach talent. Jake Long had bad penalties, Ginn needs to be taught to ensure that when you have no shot at the ball make sure the defender doesn't either. That would have given us one more play. The punting game needs to improve and the playcalling from our co-ordinator also needs to improve. also our coverage on broken down plays needs to remain good, that's experience and concentration throughout the whole play. so we don't get beat by a prayer pass again.

All of the above can be fixed.

I don't think the Jets did anything special to beat us and I think they are a team that is way over-rated.

What I learned yesterday was that we are a 4 - 6 win team, which is a step in the right directiong, but I also learned the Jets are not as good as people say they are. They are a 10 win team in my opinion.

We may even have a shot to knock them out of the playoffs late in the season.

As far as arm strength goes your defensive game plan gets easier when you don't have to defend the recievers outside the hash marks, or worry about the bomb.

Too bad we only had 13 seconds left, had we called a timeout before the 2 minute warning giving us an extra 5 seconds or so, we probably could've lined up 4 receivers, pump faked a fade and handed it to Ronnie on the draw.

Good observation. The run was wide open because they knew that we couldn't run. With a timeout....1 timeout...Wow.

were a 4-6 win team and they are a 10 win team? Based on the game I saw yesterday, they didn't show me at all that they're more than 2 games better than us.

I wish someone would show me a still of the last play. I looked on the replay and it looked like Bess was in the left corner of the end zone wide open.

Definitely NOT saying Pennington made a mistake. Just so heart breaking seeing it unfold the way it did. " The Jets are who we thought they were, and we left them off the hook"

Very true. They were anything but impressive. But of course the media praises and worships them. God I wish we would've scored, NO ONE would be talking about how great Favre was.

I'm sorry but that would've been a horrible play call, weren't we around 15-20 yards out. Now maybe from the 5-8 yard range but anything farther is a waste unless we had timeouts left.

Just start watching football last year did you?

J/K bro.

They would've not been expecting the run, add in 2 fades, one on each side of the field, and 2 out routes on each side of the field, throw in a pump fake on the fade, Ronnie could easily get 15 yards in that situation, not to mention it was 3rd and 2, we would have the 1st down if not the td and we rush back to the line and spike it. We would then be around the 5 yard line or so if we didnt score, giving us more options, either way you look at it, a fade route to Ginn is the last play u call imo. Get Wilford in there in redzone offense please...

I was very happy that we had no tackles for losses during the game. That stat alone shows that the offensive line has improved. Given that we had no TLOSS, I really do not understand the play calling in the second half.
