Ross needs to realize in todays economy, if your product is not the best offered in the area, it's going to suffer at the cash register. He may want to ask Jeffrey Loria about the recent Marlins game that drew 347 paid.

a blackout never motivated me to buy a ticket it just made me pissed at the ownership.
if i can watch a delay so be it if not i guess im stuck with the highlights
Im quite content watching on TV Have a nice big screen in AC comfortable as can be.

Why am i gonna sweat my *** off paying top dollar watching 3rd stringers play?

The average price here is probably closer to $70.....at the Dallas Cowboys new stadium I think it costs around $75 -$100 for a a standing room only spot. At some of the stadiums where sellouts are pretty rare you could probably find some seats near the top of the stadium for around $35-$45.

They shouldn't make season ticket holders pay for this crap anyway. It's preseason. We're talking about practice, man.

Let's look why the games will be blacked out:

1.) Miami is a tough city to live in. Most people can't afford to go to games. We're in a tough economy.

2.) There's much more to do in Miami than a city like Cleveland where there is nothing really to do besides go to a game.

3.) The Dolphins went 1-7 at home last year. The fans booed Sparano out the stadium. Most fans think the regime are *** clowns (I gave them one more chance). The O-line still sucks after 4 years and it doesn't give much hope.

4.) It seems like people are waiting to see what happens in week 1 against the Pats. If the Fins lose badly, I except the stadium to be empty all season.

5.) The team hasn't won a playoff game since 2001. The team has only had one winning season since 2005 including a 1-15 season in 2007. Don't forget back-to-back 7-9 seasons.

6.) The Heat are going to compete for quite a while. They will be the team of Miami if the Fins continue to lose.

7.) The Lockout made it hard for marketing.

8.) The Dolphins didn't really get any big names in FA this offseason besides Reggie Bush but people believe he's injury prone and not a franchise back.

There's only one reason. The product on the field has been terrible to mediocre for well over a decade. In spite of the reasons above, we'd sell out EVERY game if this franchise was successful. This is football town.

Why they blackout preseason games is beyond me.

Why they blackout any game is beyond me.

Create something people want to see. make it AFFORDABLE for FAMILIES (considering they equate it to family entertainment)

And perhaps they wouldn't ever need "blackouts." No other sports THREATEN fans with blackouts.

It's pretty basic.. field quality that wins = stadiums full.

The NFL blacking out or threatening to blackout games is their way of trying to strongarm the public into filling stadiums and pumping as much revenue into the NFL. The NFL has no interest in making it affordable for families. If that was the case, there would be more "true fans" at the Super Bowls instead of the corporate types.

Without getting too political, that's part of what capitalism is all about...growth. Quarter to quarter growth, same as any other business. Not only that, but everyone knows the NFL is the most popular sport in the country, so they do things (i.e. the commissioner coming down here trying to strong arm the owner into putting a roof on the stadium) that show they intend to assert their power and leverage in any way possible. I seriously doubt a lesser league would make such demands.
