It was tough for the Dallas Cowboys, but letting Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Jones walk and sign with the Miami Dolphins was the right decision.

Jones was drafted as a safety and played mostly zone coverages in Dallas. The transition to a team that relies heavily on man coverages seemed to be difficult for him. I will point out that our secondary as a unit looked noticeably worse whenever he wasn’t on the field. I’m not sure he will live up to his contract, but he is by no means a liability on the field.

We have a potential out in 2023, it was a five year deal that really only will go three years. This is the new normal for Grier and how he structures contracts. Love it.

That said, I wasn't the least bit impressed with Jones but he would have been CB1 on that sorry a** Dallas defense.
