Cowher playing starters a half

Actually I think this will be a good stiff test for Vernon Carey. He's shown the ability so far to match up in one-on-one situations and to make reads in his zone blocking in order to take on successive blocks, but the Steelers' 3-4 technique should be a stiff test for his read and recognition skills, which I believe are supposed to be his weakness.

Can't wait to scour the tape man.

Well if Gus gets rocked, it would allow Feeley to show something against a good Steelers def. Instead of just playing against there backups.

I have a feeling that Gus is gonna get rocked... Those lucky slipped throws for TDs won't cut it against the Steelers secondary. I think Feeley will see at least 1/2 Qtr of action with 1st teamers.

I happen to agree.

Me three.....

They've got a legit SB contender in Pittsburgh, and we're rebuilding....

I have a bad feeling about this one, but here's what I'll be hoping for from Miami...

1. Solid OL play. Run the ball effectively, and protect the QB!!!!
2. Sustaining offensive drives regardless if points are scored...
3. Fewer mistakes...
4. Good tackling...
5. Intense motivation....

If we can show those five things, even if we get destroyed on the scoreboard, I'll be happy....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

It'll be nice to see the starters get a whole half. We better hope AJ doesn't get anytime with the starters or he might get hurt. ;p

I DON'T THINK SO ... GUS WILL PLAY ALMOST THE WHOLE HALF FEELY WILL PROBABLY PLAY 5 MINS BEFORE THE HALF AND INTO THE THIRD QUARTER...

I'm not so sure. This 3rd game of 5! I would expect this is a game where starters play the least. Rest up and game plan the next game! This is the last chance to look at depth which is Saban's biggest worry now. But he does want to light the fire so what do I know. (I really think we will go 1/4 each) this will set the standard.

Edit: who ever fixed me up TY!!!!!

The article is about Hines Ward , but this tidbit is in there-

" The Steelers could make this very easy. They could do Ward a favor and keep him out of Saturday's game. Nobody would blink an eye, because he's only been in camp for two days. Is it critical that he plays in preseason game No. 2?

Coach Bill Cowher plans to play his starters for a half. He intends to use Ward, saying, "He'll play. I don't know how much, but he'll play." "

Good stiff test for our first teamers. Their D and special teams made the Eagles first teamers look a little silly.

Yea and we need to keep in mind our team is one game ahead of them, which makes a difference...it'll be interesting to see how the D fares and whether he gets AJ in at all with the 1st team...
