Thought of this today, random thought.

Is it wrong to think and i don't beleive the coaching staff or ownership would ever say this. After this or the last one :), they determined that the season is all but over and decided to rest the investment (cpep) for next season, and let Joey take the reigns.

I'm sure this has already been discussed just thought i would throw it out their.

I'm not saying they think the season is over and it's time to think about 07 but I am saying that they felt that our offensive line wasn't going to improve and if we kept him in he'd get re-injured.

If this is what happened this will have a negative affect on the veteran players especially those who might not be here next year.

One thing is for sure, now that TO going back to Philly is done, this situation will be the next "NFL" soap opera.

Sit back relax and enjoy the show.

i think so. i think they know culpepper is the future, dnt want to risk further injury, and want him to get back to 100%. end of story

Saban recognized C-Pep wasn't firing on all cylinders and decided to sit him until he is ready- simple as that.

Saban isn't going to waste all that money on Culpepper and just give up.

I think he will try and rehabilitate his knee & his confidence, then probably trade him next year if he doesn't improve his atty-tude...

Aside from the last response, this is a viable argument but I think that it goes more to the fact that C-Pep was still hurt, couldn't make plays like he normally can, and the other players were getting frustrated, so Saban decided to go with the healthy Harrington.

Daunte will sit until he is healthy like in 2004. And anyone who doesn't believe C-pep was not healthy last year when he struggled is fooling themselves. The last time he was healthy was in 2004, and we all know what he did that year!

What has Culpepper done that constitutes an attitude problem.

I love how everyone thinks that he has an attitude......I for one have no problem with the argument he had with Nick, and for that matter neither does Nick. The man is a competitor, and did not believe that he was hurting the team, and still felt that he could make plays and lead this team. He is a proud athlete who believes he should still be the man. It took his coach to tell him to his face that he was hurting the team and that he was going to be shut down. And C-Pep didn't take it well. How would Marino have taken it? I seem to remember some well chronicled run-ins with JJ where Marino was upset about his use. However no one question his attitude or felt he was a cancer.

Give me a guy like C-Pep at every position over a guy like Randy Moss, who takes plays off.

I didn't say that he had an attitude problem, only that he should improve it.

Did you see him on the sidelines?

Isn't that one of the things that were said about him from MN in the offseason, that he was pampered by his former coach?

Trade him to who? We barely got rid of him here in MN last year. Is there another Saban out there that I don't know about? Face it, you're stuck with MR. ALL HYPE

Blurch how can you say that, if you watch the Vikes and Cpep play are you telling me that Cpep is not injured, didn't have surgery.
Please go away

What if JH plays lights out and leads this team to the playoffs? What then?
He's younger than DC and I would think they would build around him and maybe use DC as trade bait.
JH has as much of a chance to succeed as Brees did. In fact, JH has more physical talent. Question is, does he have the mental capacity?

I'm telling you guys, like it or not, DC's problem isn't his knee or his shoulder, it's his HEAD. He had one good year here in MN where he put up huge numbers (oh and we won a whole 8 games that year). Believe me - HE's ALL HYPE. He can throw the ball a mile and he used to be able to run, but he has NEVER been able to produce consistantly. What your seeing is the real Daunte. And Saban knows it. That's why he's talking about how Joey and the Team played so well in a 10 point LOSS to NE. You can argue with me all you want, but you'll eventually see that I'm right. Daunte is a dud, always was.

I can see your jilted point of view. But, you must heed to our blind optimism. We just spent millions of dollars. Can't you make us feel any better? Maybe a couple of million dollars would change your tune? At least for 5 games.... then you'll get mad just like Daunte.

(VERY THICK SARCASM FOLKS!)
