Cpep is likely out for season

After his routine checkup turned into surgery it was expected that his season would be over.

No surprise there. Culpepper needs as much time as possible to get healthy if he plans on winning back the starting job in 2007. I hope he makes it back, but I still have my doubts as well. Harrington is playing good football right now, and that will make it even tougher for Culpepper when the time comes...

PHINZ RULE!!!!

i rather him not come back......let him train hard in the offseason and get going next year......i still feel he will be our QB of the future

I hear you.

It's just a complete shame that we have to go into yet another year with questions surrounding what is arguably the most important position on the field.

ive said it before and ill say it again...If we want to win the SuperBowl in the Next 5 years it all rides on the Knee of Daunte Culpepper...Joey is doing a good job just like Fiedler just like AJ just like Griese just Like Ferrotte and so on...Fellas mediocrity will not win us a superbowl...So for the sake of the vetrans on our roster pray for the health of Daunte's knee!!!

Seems to me the Bears have a QB that is as mediocrity as they come....and they could win the superbowl.....I mean when your QB has a rating of less than two in a game.....Harrington sure looks good.

Maybe you could make an arguement comparing Joey to Jay, but Feeley? Come on. Its not even close. Feeley was the worst QB this franchise ever had.

With some more work and continuity, Joey could be a good QB for this team. He has all the tools. He just has to work on his decision making, and he has been making progress in doing that.

He may be "mediocre", but Rex is in for the same reason we want Daunte. Why don't you think they went to Brian Griese sooner? Rex Grossman, although playing like complete crap lately, is still able to make throws and do things for them on offense that Brian Griese and Kyle Orton couldn't. Those guys would be inserted to "not turn the ball over, manage the game, etc." All the terms we've heard here for our QBs since Marino left, and the term used for Joey.

I hear you though fishypete. It's been done before. We've seen instances where a dominant defense and a caretaker offense have won before. It's tough though. In those cases, the defense is usually one of the more dominant defenses in the history of the league (a la Ravens).

I believe Daunte will still the #1 QB heading into the offseason. Nick Saban has said nothing to make me believe different. The Dolphin players have said nothing to make me feel different either. I'm OK with giving a "healthy" Daunte Culpepper a chance to earn his keep. I'm also all for "open competition" this offseason between Joey Harrington and Daunte Culpepper to stimulate some competition that Daunte has had for awhile.

Uh...Mediocrity won't win? Mediocrity is a step up from what Culpepper was in five games this season.
