Saw the Longhorns vs. Tech, and i´m amazed of the game Michael Crabtree played last night !
Great effort after each catch, always has this 4 to 5 extra yards, this guy is as NFL ready as anyone.
When we have the chance to get him, we have to pull the trigger...him and Ginn what a great combo this could possibly be...!!:beer1::beer1:

Don't get too excited. I don't think he will be around when we are picking. He is a can't miss top 10 pick and last time I check superbowls winners don't pick quite that high. Maybe after we win it all this year he will demand a trade and we get him that way.

In all seriousness we're set to pick #10 right now (which is already probably too low for Crabtree), and with games remaining against the Seahawks, Raiders, 49ers, Rams and Chiefs...I think that draft order will get worse rather than better.

Besides, there's still some building blocks we need to put in place before we start going after the flashy WR pick.

I'm changing my top 10 and putting Clint Sintim in there. I just can't decide whether to take out Demarcus Granger or Rey Maualuga, or Brandon Spikes.

Something about Spikes' edge rushing capacity makes me keep him in there.

jenkins and sintim would be a heck of a draft heh... is sintim rising too high now?

after watching the Fla&Ga game yesterday, and seeing Spikes play the way he did...i can honestly say that it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if we got him...

Any thoughts on putting William Moore (FS) in there your top 10? To me, it seems that FS is a bigger need than CB, especially in the eyes of this regime.
It's also hard for me to imagine a DT pick with a first rd pick. I feel like the style of this regime (namely parcells) is much more likely to pick a DT in rd 6 or 7 and develop them over the next couple years, the same way Ferguson was when Parcells first picked him, and the same whay Ratliff was when he was drafted by the Cowboys. I'm not saying I wouldnt like a 1st rd NT type, I'm just saying I have a hard time imagining it, especially when you consider the holes we have and the value that they may view for DTs in later rds. Just my 2 cents.

Forget it. Crabtree is moving up the draft boards and we are moving down (I'm not complaining!).

I have been watching Crabtree a great deal and what really impresses me about him besides his size, speed and hands, is his toughness. Most receivers go down as soon as you lay a hand on them, but Crabtree breaks through tackles and then pulls d-backs a couple extra yards. I don't think we will have a shot at drafting him.....I would love to draft Maualuga or Cushing of USC. I think they both are better tacklers than Channing Crowder who I just feel is a very average linebacker. I think we have to take a LB first, then a defensive back...then best player available.

ill cry if we draft a wr in the first round :( no matter how good they are

We will be picking anywhere from 12-20. No way does Crabtree fall to us nor do I want him, you can find many good WR's in the second round, we have bigger holes than WR and we need to address them first.

I think the signs are definitely building toward us drafting a WR in the 2nd round. Bill Parcells has a history of drafting 2nd round WRs. He doesn't like 1st round WRs, but I think he likes 2nd and 3rd round WRs. He definitely values the position I just think he might not like the risk/reward of a 1st round guy compared with certain other positions.

As for who that 2nd/3rd round guy could be? I'm keeping my eye on Juaquin Iglesias, to be honest. Right now many have him as the top senior WR, but he could easily fall because first off, Crabtree and Maclin will likely come out. Second, there are a fair number of juniors that could come out and screw up Iglesias' draft position, such as Darius Heyward-Bey, Percy Harvin and Hakeem Nicks (my personal favorite). Maybe Kenny Britt, as well. Because I'm so high on Hakeem Nicks, I'm not trying to fool myself so I'm going to go ahead and assume he will be taken before Miami can get hold of him. Aside from that, I don't see them being big buyers on Heyward-Bey, an experienced junior track star, or Percy Harvin, who might be on the smallish side for what they want. They might like Kenny Britt, but they'd have to be worried he's a flash in the pan.

I see them in general tending toward seniors, especially at positions that are hard to learn and take a lot of experience. Now, that's not by any means absolute, just maybe a slight inclination. Receiver is a position that they believe to be the hardest to learn aside from QB. I think they have outright said that before. This is why, IMO, they would TEND toward acquiring veterans who maybe slipped through the cracks a little bit. However, I think they are starting to become pleasantly surprised by the WR position between Ginn and Camarillo. The Broncos rolled a ton of extra coverage onto Ginn, and they still got him involved in some plays. Meanwhile that left Camarillo open to do some damage, and he did indeed do some damage. Two weeks in a row, one of our guys eclipses the 100+ mark. Their timing and communication with Pennington is getting better all the time.

Maybe it isn't so urgent anymore that we try and break the bank to steal a T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Anquan Boldin or Chad Johnson. You don't get the #6 ranked passing offense by having "pitiful" receivers. We need some depth, and a guy that could eventually turn into a stud, clearly.

But, wouldn't that be what a Juaquin Iglesias is good for? Speaking of Housh, that's a guy that Iglesias does remind me a lot of. Some folks see Iglesias as maybe only being a slot WR in the NFL. You can flip that around and say well if that's something that is a strength for him, it gives him a job he can do right away as a rookie. Now, I think he's more than just a slot guy. He's got a lot of experience, has been making an impact since he was a freshman when he touched the ball at least once in each of the 10 final contests of his true freshman year. He has played in every game since his true freshman year, which will probably be a total of 54 games by the time he comes out in the draft. He's caught at least 2 passes, or a touchdown, in 38 of the 49 games he's played thus far...and I'll go out on a limb and say that streak will extend to 43 of 54 games. He's been a punt returner, he's run the ball 12 times, he's been a kick returner, he tends to have his best outings in Bowl Games...he is what Derek Hagan SHOULD have been, if Derek wasn't so intent on constantly fighting the ball instead of catching it.

So if I'm putting together a mock, I would absolutely LOVE to put Hakeem Nicks in the 2nd round, but I doubt it's happening. I think Juaquin Iglesias would be a good pick there, one that has history going for it, one that has the experience factor which I think they will like, a guy that is talented and has been productive.

Although I have to admit, Iglesias' teammate Manny Johnson, also a senior, was stealing his thunder a bit and may also rise. Two good players.

Wow... Sintim in the Top 10? Calm down man. I like Clint a lot but he's a late 1st rounder right now AT BEST.

Really? According to whom?

He's in the middle portion of my 1st round mix and likely to move up by the time draft day rolls around.

Umm... according to anyone. I haven't heard of or seen a mock that even has him in the 1st round yet. Let alone the Top 10. He is a 3-4 OLB and all of the following are ahead of him right now in that category: Michael Johnson, Brian Orakpo, Greg Hardy, Brian Cushing, Everette Brown, and George Selvie. So, at this point, unless all 7 of those guys go in the first, I doubt he makes it in. I'm not saying it's not possible, and a lot could change in 6 months, but for now he isn't in that discussion yet.
