"Ironhead" Heyward was just reported as to have passed on ESPN news. 8:32 EST. RIP.

ETA: 39 Years old. Holy crap. I'm 38.

At 8:32 EST Craig Heyward was reported by ESPN news as having passed at age 39.

RIP.

(Posted in Gen. NFL, but, nobodyis over there and, I figgured NFL fans would want to know.)

Always repected the toughess with which he played.

Wow. Unbelievable. I liked "Ironhead." Tough runner. I can't believe how young these guys are that are passing away.
 
Very sad. I know i am getting old cause I remember him playing at the U of Pitt and being the biggest thing on the college football scene for a short while. Doesn't seem that long ago. It really doesn't.
 
I believe in the past he had been fighting brain cancer.
 
Ironhead--Wow that is a shock--he couldn't have been very old--Painful time for his family. My condolences go out too them.
 
It gives new meaning to the saying that we should all live life one day at a time and enjoy every day as if its the last.
 
He was one of the rare players I rooted for outside of the Dolphins organization. I remember him steamrollinbg people while he was with the Falcons. In fact, My dad and I kept him on our fantasy team really because we liked his name and the fact that he played hard. Sad news. :(
