Crazy that people get so irrate for us cutting a backup LB

The same people that are mad about Edds are the same begging for a TE, can't make them happy. Look I like Edds but Im not at practice so I assume they know better than I do. There is no organization that is perfect I read the entire 2009 draft class of the Broncos (Shanahan) have all been cut now,not saying they will regret this move but if Edds does turn out to be good it happens. How about the guys the FO has found Bess, Wake, Odrick, Wilson, Gates, Solai, Clay, etc... In saying that I know we had some misses as well but that's apart of it.

Don't go and point out the incredibly good things the FO has done.

You're sure to go on some people's ignore now :lol:

Wake and Bess alone are AMAZING damn finds. Although I dont like the Edds cut, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.....for now..... :ponder:
 
What's sad is there was less complaining about crowder being cut. We all know crowder was better than any backup lb on the team.
 
I'm more upset about Spears and Kearse than Edds....Edds is a guy you root for but he wasn't a banger and Mitchell can probably cover just as well.

Oh well, another LB the Browns can pick up for their bench, OR he goes to the Pats and picks off Henne 3 times in Game 1, taking one to the house.
 
yeah wake was so amazing as a find by them he was inactive for the first 2 games of the 09 season while joey p and jason taylor did the 2 step with every tackle we played and mannings jersey never even got a hint of dirt on it...and all season long sparano told us how wake needed to work on his run d thus he wasn't playing while i watched joey p do nothing but rush up the field forgetting any semblance of run responsibility

they lucked into cam wake and it took them forever to realize what they had...when you got a pass rusher like that in hand you don't not play him cause he's not great vs the run...you let that guy learn on the job and tell him to hunt the qb

but yeah...great job tony and jeff (my ***)
 
well i think edds did decent considering he was coming off a major injury
and is basically a rookie when it comes to playing time
he still lead the team in tackles shows me he could turn out to be solid
should dansby or Burnett get injured..

i think what blew it for edds
is that he didn't have enough tackles around the line of scrimmage

many more teams are using 3 tightends plays
so guys like mitchell will be exposed in coverage.
 
I believe Edds may return on the practice squad if no one claims him.

isn't Sean smith going to cover the receiving tight ends just like last year? Pretty sure the dolphins have enough to play burnette and dansby.. its not the end of the world.

God forbid we cut this 4th stringer, instead of that 4th stringer. How in the world will we ever be able to warm the bench????

Good point. After our starters, their isnt really anyone that truly stands out from the rest.
 
I would have let John Jerry go before Edds. John Jerry is big for nothing and good for the same nothing.
 
you guys don't seem to understand the next man up aspect of pro football...its a contact sport injuries happen god forbid dansby or burnett or both were to get hurt and marvin mitchell looks like what he's looked like to date this preseason which is pretty much at best average you want austin spitler off of what you've seen or aj edds the next man up???

i know my answer...the one who's actually been around the ball and making tackles not the guy who looks like he's lost on the field...cuts in your 2 deep matter...odds are good at least one of your backups will play significant snaps at some point during the season...you don't just blow these off as "i didn't expect him to play much this year...no big deal"
