Would be a great hire. I was hoping we'd hire him rather than Saban. In hindsight, he's probably a better assistant coach, but I think he's a very good assistant, and NE's defense actually suffered a great deal when he left.

I'd take him any day over our current DC.
 
I think our DC did an outstanding job last year, given what he had. I would love Crennel as some type of assitant. Excellent mind and could really help us out.

Because? He had one winning season as a HC, who was responsible for both sides of the ball. And his recent record in CLE warrants a job in MIA over a DC who did wonders with a patchwork DEF lastyear?
 
Maybe if Pasqualoni gets a HC job somewhere.

But honestly, Crennel will go with Parcells goes and if Parcells takes off after this year to try and squat on another franchise and turn another one around, Crennel would be a serious candidate to be his DC the same way Henning was a serious candidate to be our OC.

I'm fairly certain that we would sign Crennel as an assistant, letting Pasqualoni keep his job at DC, but I think Crennel brings more to the table - even as an assistant. I think Pasqualoni was solid last year - nothing to write home about. Crennel was a top-5 DC - IMO - during his run with New England.

Pasqualoni isnt going anywhere.

I'd love to bring in Crennel in some other capacity though if we could, heck, you could even make him the assistant HC, similar to what Sparano's position was in Dallas.

Part of my reasoning would be his talent and relationship with the coaching staff we have now, the other part would be to keep him away from the Patriots. BB could certainly use him back with the Pats.

Did Mangini fire him? I thought they were going to keep him as DC in Cleveland?
 
I think Pasqualoni does a good job with teaching techniques and fundamentals....he can develope younger players....

...but Crennel is much better on gameday at the X's and O's as a DC IMO...
