Cromartie has shown brilliance when he gets playing time. The coaches are being smart with him and giving him reps here and there. One of the reasons why he hasn't received more play time is due to our #2 CB playing out of his mind (Drayton Florence).

When Cro was drafted, I figured he'd be a nickel/dime player for the year. But as mentioned, he's been playing so well that it's hard to keep him out. He singlehandedly shut down Torry Holt when we played them at home. He also made some VERY IMPRESSIVE plays vs. Javon Walker.

Chad Johnson USED and abused him on a couple of plays. What surprised me about this was the coaching staff allowing Cro to match up ONE on ONE vs. Johnson, granted he was worked, the confidence they're showing with him is amazing.

Besides a very sure tackler, his speed is JAW DROPPING. His technique is very similar to Champ Bailey in which they can side step and then explode to get with the receivers. He's been out of position a couple of times when we've played zone, but hopefully he can learn not to drop so deep or not to be out of position when a player is dragging.

The talent is THERE, there's no doubt that he'll be a starting CB next year, unless Drayton Florence continues to improve - he's been my biggest stud all year (D-Flo).

Cro has also had 3 balls go through his hands that should have been INT's.
Overall, he's still a work in progress...the talent is OOOZING, but he's made some rookie mistakes like biting on a hitch and go and at times being WAAY too agressive against WR's like Chad Johnson. WR like CJ deserves the respect because THEY WILL BURN YOU if you don't.

cromartie is a freak. very big for a corner but still extremely fast. hill is also good, hes got great speed but doesnt have the size

Cromartie was who I wanted here. John Clayton was on ESPN Radio as we were picking and had called 'em right all day so far. He said Cromartie was a lock and Saban's visit a few days earlier to FSU was really just to take a look at AC. I was really surprised when we drafted Jason Allen, but I trust Saban. A little frustrating though when AC has looked really good out there.

With my rose colored glasses off.

Cromartie will be a true SHUTDOWN corner. The guy is amazing. He's still "raw" in being a little too aggressive, but a couple more games where he gets burnt by the likes of C. Johnson and Brett Favre during pre-season - he'll be great.

Me too, I wanted Cromartie, and if not him, Manny Lawson. I was pretty disappointed when we passed on Cromartie.
