Per Profootballtalk:
Wade Phillips will get a chance to get his second career playoff victory in Dallas.
ESPN's Ed Werder reports that Phillips will be brought back as Cowboys coach in 2010. Owner Jerry Jones promised a quick decision on his coach, and he stayed true to his word.
Jones had an option on Phillips' contract. It remains uncertain whether Phillips will get an extension, but we'd think Jones wants to avoid having a "lame duck" coach.
Werder also confirms what receiver Roy Williams was thinking. The receiver gets paid too much to be released, no matter how poorly he plays. He'll be back again too.
