Does anybody have the link for the video from the Orange Bowl in the eighties, I believe it was a Monday night game against the bears where the crowd was so loud that the refs were threatening to penalize us for being too loud????? Please and thanks

I think it was vs. the Eagles in 1981. Loudest OB crowd I ever saw.

There is a video somewhere which shows that the Bears could not get a play started because of the crowd noise. Can't find it right now.

I think it was vs. the Eagles in 1981.

It also happened in that game...Joe Rose was actually talking about that game on his show two days ago. How Ron Jaworski kept complaining to the refs that he couldn't hear and that just made the crowd get louder. The refs even asked Shula to try and quiet the crowd but that made the crowd get even more into it. Eventually the refs told Jaworski to just snap the freakin ball and stop complaining.

The Orange Bowl was a special place...crowd was right on top of the field pretty much. My father had season tickets right down in the front row...box seats at about the 35 yard line on the Dolphins side of the field...that place used to get loud. Crowd made a huge difference in those home games. Sun Life will never be like the OB was.

The Dallas game in 1984 was the same. Shula came out onto the field with his arms raised to try and reduce the noise. It only worked until the Cowboys got back to the LOS and then the volume went even higher.
Imagine screaming as loud as you can, and not hearing yourself. That is what it was like.

I still say noise is made by fans not bricks, the night Dan Marino's number was retired, Sun life stadium was deafening

I have relayed this story many times- I was at the Jets-phins 1998 Sunday Nighter and that building was as loud as any I have been in(and it was probably 30% full of Jet fans). when you guys are winning, playing big games that Stadium will be loud.

I can't believe somebody has that full 1985 game on YouTube and the NFL allows it. I had it on my channel years ago. The NFL complained about copyright and YouTube forced me to remove it. Then the NFL continued to complain about my channel until YouTube closed it down. I got so sick of the complaints I didn't really care anymore. I only had a handful of NFL related material to begin with, among 278 videos total. Lots of it was college football, which never got me in trouble. I had many full Canes games from their heyday and featuring the Orange Bowl noise and influence.

it will be taken down, games are put up and taken down all the time as you know.

I recall Phins and Browns in OB in mid 80's. Playoff game. that was loud
