and maybe neither has Carey....

Looks so far like the wait and see approach might be right.

Finally someone who gets it that Y.Bell isnt an all pro player around here. He is avg. on his best day.

Bell isn't All-Pro but he is nice to have. He is always around the action and has made some big plays.

Your kidding right?

Go check who the Top two guys for leading tackles for the Dolphins are will ya?

Bell was incredible for us when he first became a starter. Since then he has tapered off and become an average safety- a guy who makes plays every now and then but isn't really special.

Every now and then?? He led the team again today in tackles. Had a sack and lets not forget against the Seabirds, the biggest play of that game. Not All-Pro, but not average either.

i'm all for letting Crowder go,but then again,i said that in an earlier post and got flamed for it,but i'm sticking to my guns on this...

leading the team in tackles doesnt make someone a gamer. Im not sayin ghtey aren't but I am saying you are judging or evaluating the wrong way.

The problem with Carey and Crowder is that they probbaly feel they should be paid in the top tier of their respective positions and I'm not sure that's warranted. This was supposed to be the year that Carey would become a top tier RT and that hasn't happened. Crowder is ok but he's not a play maker who other teams have to account for. Both players are worth keeping at the right price but not worth overpaying for.

Bell is somewhat of an enigma. He's a solid player, sure, but he's not exactly a play maker. Leading the team in tackles is fine but how many plays has he made this year? Not many. Plus he's a 30 year old with a history of injuries. Is he truly a good player or just a so so player in a sea of mediocre ones?

Tackles as a stat really aren't that great of a measure of how good a defensive back is. I'm inclined to think that since NE was pretty much passing all day, it would have been nicer to see some of those tackles be incompletions instead. He made that play against the Seahawks, but that is one play which supports my original claim. He's a decent player but he's been far from a great one this year. And I was the biggest Yeremiah Bell fan there was a few years ago, he always showed talent and it was beyond belief that scrubs like Tillman were being put out there while Bell was relegated to nickel. But he's not a star and he is replacable.

Yep, get rid of crowder if we can find someone better.. But keep Bell, i think Bell and Will Alan should be the only DBs we should keep lol. Rest of our guys are garbage.

Crowder is definitely overrated. I'd only re-sign Bell and if he wants too much because of Rosenhaus, then see ya.

I still believe Bell is worth resigning unless we go safety in an early round. If we get a good prospect in the mid to late rounds, we'll want Bell back for next year at least to start until the rookie is ready.

That being said, I have come to trust the trifecta totally in the way personnel decisions are made now. They are putting heart and fire back into this team by rewarding hard work (Ricky,Cobbs, Camarillo) and disregarding overpaid players who do not produce (Hagan,Wilford) It is no longer bussiness as usual with this team. It was ovious the fire was lost from this team when the team's undisputed leader decided he would rather dance with the stars than work with the team in the offseason. Parcells was not going to stand for that nor should he have. The decisions made this offseason wether we like them or not, will be based on performance and value and nothing more (except maybe loyalty to the team.) In short, the new regime is doing it right, like noone in Miami has for years now.
