I'm just sitting here thinking about how many LBs we're picking up and likely how many we'll keep in the roster. Was anyone else not impressed with Crowder before his injury? I constantly saw him take himself out of plays by over persuing, poor blitzing etc. I saw so many poor tackles my head almost exploded. No he isn't Zach, but come on.. He's going into his 4th year, I believe if he doesn't start to produce he walks at the end of this season. And I for one wouldn't be to sad about it. We can talk stats all we like, and how he led the team in tackles. But I also believe thats the nature of the position, and if ZT had played in the exact number of games as Crowder the numbers would be laughably incomparable. I'm looking for Crowder to get it together this year or I can see Parcells letting him go.

I can care less what happens with him.
If he can't get the job done, get someone else who can.

I think he's more suited as a 4-3 ILB that can go sideline to sideline. Also i think he's got a better shot to produce if the DT in front of him can take on blocks.

no comment, I will take a wait and see approach, whoever is going to be lining up next to him better produce also. If they can shut down between the hashmarks I am happy.

I'm torn. While I have seen all the missed tackles you have, I have seen A FEW flashes. I think he will thrive in a full-time 3-4, and maybe losing Zach will be for the best. Sounds odd, I know, but Channing has a real fire about him and excellent leadership qualities. Even as a rookie, starting on a veteran defense, he fit right in. I think he has the intangibles, and the physical traits, lets see if he can put it together.

Exactly right! This staff is watching film on Crowder and realizing that he is a mediocre LB at best. We will upgrade the position and Channing will be replaced real soon!

Expect an argument from the Crowder faithful who live off his stats.

If you watch the film though he is often out of position then chases the play 6 or 7 yards downfield. He is slow and takes horrible tackling angles. Some will compare him to Zach which is laughable.

I think Crowder will realize this too. Even if he get's alot of tackles like he normally does that won't be enough to win Bill over. He need's to step up his production like with sacks, FF, and pass's defended. One play he over pursue's and the next he is three step's behind the play.

I would like too see our young talent succeed. So, I hope Crowder has a productive 2008. If he doesn't, then he's got to go.

I don't think Sporano is the type of guy to mince his words. i think of Crowder doesn't get it together he's going to get a rude awakening. He better get it together. Because I've been hearing for 3 years now how he is the future. Something tells me by the size and speed of some of the LBs Parcells and Ireland are bringing in, Crowder may be gone anyway.

In my opinon he is a very aggresive LB and he needs to learn direct it in the right direction and bringing in Porter should help him..because i see them both being nasty LB's...but i agree either produce or get out.

I've seen minimal plays where he looks like he can be a starter. Last year was a dissapointment with the injuries. I do agree though, this should be his last year to go one way or another.

Time for Crowder to wake up!He has been an under achiever as far as I'm concerened and that won't be acceptable with this new regime. The writting is on the wall for Crowder and I can see him as a back up by the start of the season and no way do they re-sign Crowder to $$$ when this contract is done...He is not a game changer and 4 years down the road what will make him change?

As much as I want to see him be the player we all thought he could be I have come to the conclusion that the chance of that happening is not very good and he can and will be replaced very easily.

I thought by playing next to Zach he would learn and this would translate to him becomming a playmaker and game changer but
it just didn't happen.

No one's job is safe with this new regime and maybe, just maybe it will light a fire under the collective butts of this team...
