I have to tell you I am upset to the point of being sick after watching the Dolphin Patriot rewind film on the NFL network.

In my mind this moment in our season was a defining moment for our team and here is why.

The Dolphins were a much tougher team - not since the days of Brian Cox or the Killer B's have we had so much.

But in that Matt Light Channing Crowder moment where Light was helmeted and slugging the un-helmeted head of Crowder have I thought it defined our team. Light, on some level knew he could get away with it and he did!

I would have liked to have seen that moment spark something much deeper inside the players on this team to go after that punk Light and the whole patriots team in a way that would have left the Patriots and the NFL reeling.

I think Matt Light laughing his head off on his way into the locker room in our stadium showed that we were not up to the task against a certain echelon of team in the NFL.

We were good enough to beat most teams, but when it came to tough teams, street tough teams, we were not up to the task!

I do like the fact that Light kept his helmet on the entire way to the locker room. Even the Patriot players know you better watch yourself in Miami. You can see hes just waiting to get blasted by a beer or something the whole time, as he should have.

well, for one it shows that we are a disciplined team and even tho i wanted channing to beat the snot out of light, im glad he didnt and showed some restraint. u know deep down if joey or someone else jumped in that the nfl would have suspended them in a second and new england would have just gotten a slap on the wrist.

i hope matt light is still smiling. that divison title made me smile too.:woot:

it's all water under the bridge now, and if i'm not mistaken that dolphin team went hit for hit with a patriot team that was up 42-7 at halftime a calender year ago in that same stadium, if anything it made matt light look like a punk and he got to pull his own hair as we clinched the division.

We clinched the division and about this I am proud in a big way. But our two losses were to New England and Baltimore. Those two teams beat us on our turf. Both those teams were much tougher then our Dolphins.

I do think the trifecta went out to remedy this in a big way, but that Matt Light moment is one that revealed a lot to me, especially in retrospect.

It bothers you that our team didn't get into a brawl with the Patriots over some hair pulling or that Channing didn't fight a guy with a helmet on?

What are you saying exactly?

The only thing that makes me upset about the whole thing is how they were punished the same.

Exactly. Not only does it show some discipline on Crowder's part, but who in their right mind would fight someone with a helmet on while you don't have a helmet on?

Crowder does what is best for the team and people criticize him for it.
I applaud him for it. Losing your cool only loses games.

exactly, thank you.

The refs aside(there ruling boggled my mind), the thing that made me furious was what happened afterwards from the league office. I love the commissioners priorities, safety tackles Boldin to hard on accident: 1 game suspension and 50 grand out of the players pocket; Matt Light intentionally tries to harm another player while the other player tries to avoid penalty: fine both of them and let Light keep playing.
Makes about as much sense as not suspending a coach for intentionally cheating.

You're right, but they did eject Light too.

We beat the NE Pats, San Diego Chargers, NY Jets, and took care of business when in control of our destiny. What we need is better coverage and more sacks from someone else other than Joey P.

I think this season will be much different, even with the tough schedule cus what the "experts" dont realize is that NE has to play the same tough schedule.

BTW, Matt Light and Tom B. were celebrating and high fiven when JT went to the Redskins. Not so sure they are sitting comfortably. Matt light is totally scared of JT.

Thats why all they will do against us are those WR screens. Well, I see our new DB's taking care of that.
