Crowder, 21, has filled in for injured Junior Seau at the "Will" linebacker spot while also working out as the second-team "Mike" linebacker. Learning two separate positions in the Dolphins' complicated scheme could confuse a 10-year veteran, let alone a rookie in his first two weeks of training camp.
But it hasn't stopped Crowder from impressing his new coaches.
"He's a very football-smart guy," Dolphins coach Nick Saban said. "He's got good football instincts. He's got good size and power to knock them back and play physical, but he also has some athleticism and ability to play coverage."
