Cubs sign Floyd

yeah I liked him when he was with the Mets. I know he wanted to play in Chicago and I wish him the best of luck there.

Good luck to cliff and hopefully he stays healthy. The guy's been thru hell and back with the achilles injury and the death of his sister. Cant wish anything but good for a guy whos been through that and yet still wants to compete for his team.

Just uh, take it easy on the mets Cliff.

Over/under 70 games.
over. 1st year of a new contract coming off achilles surgery. He'll play a 100 and put up his usual respectable power stats before some injury hits him.

Cliff Floyd's last 3 years have been getting worse and worse.. 2005 wasn't bad, but the Cliff Floyd of old is gone.. This guy had a major dropoff at 30 years old, injuries have had something to do with that but he gets in 100+ games every year.. I think he is a great player to take a gamble on for a 3rd/4th guy you know won't finish the year, but will give you good AB's when in the game..

There goes another chink in the Met's armor.

GO PHILLIES.

Hey at least Mark Prior, Kerry Wood and Wade Miller will have someone else to talk to on the DL this year.

Yea especially when we already replaced floyd with alou who absolutely murders lefties and is slightly less injured. Oh and Alou has a higher ba, higher obp, drives in more runs per game over the course of his career, and oh did i mention he murders lefties which was our sore spot last year (if you can believe we had one considering the mets led the nl in runs scored). And alou is only on a 1 yr deal so if and when he gets hurt we have the option to say see ya as opposed to signing cliff to a 3 year deal. So um, what chink in the armour are you referring to?

Mets > Phils

Heck, the Marlins > Phils

The Phils won't finish 12 games back of the Mets this year.....more like:

1. Phillies: 98-64
2. NY Muts: 88-74
3. Marlins: 82-80
3. Braves: 80-82
4. Nats: 70-92

I liked Floyd when he was here in Florida. Wish him the best of luck.
