I am having an agruement on another board regarding Culpepper. the say Moss made Culpepper what he was in Minnesota. I brought up the fact that he had no running game in Minnesota and still put up big numbers and that when he had a 100 yard rusher his stats increased greatly. All I want is proof in stats that Moss did not make Culpepper good. that he wasn't the only reason Culpepper is what he is. could one of you find stats to back my agruement?

well, i cant help you find stats, but look up his 2004 season where Moss was injured for a majority of it, and he still put up prolific numbers...Show the stats where Moss didnt play in the game and Culpepper still played great

Pep had his best year in '04 with Moss injured for the better part of the season. I belive Randy missed 2-3 games. i watched the entire season b/c I had Moss on my fantasy team. Even when he played after the injury, he was a shell of himself. He only had 1 or 2 TDs after the injury and mostly acted as a poor decoy for the last half of the season. All the while Pep had his best year and probably one of the 5 best years in NFL history for a QB

Just ask them why Kerry Collins didnt go to the probowl...

That and the year Pep threw for 4700 yds, Moss only had 760 of them and less than a 1/3 of his 39 TDs.

Lets not forget in 2003 when Culpepper sat out two games Gus Frerotte came in and dominated to the tune of 115 QB rtg.

The Culpepper Manifesto

If you haven't read this, then you NEED to. This breaks down Culpepper's career stats and debunks any possible argument (including the moss factor) that says Culpepper is garbage. Just read this and it will answer all your questions. There is a link to it on finheaven homepage on the right hand side under the Commentary section.

Uhh moss made DC? GET A LIFE!

Saying that Moss made Culpepper is like saying that the Cowbell made music. Sure, music is better with cowbell but not entirely necesary

It's easy just check out his stats from last year"
week 1 vs Tampa
Pepper 22/33 233 yds 3 INT

Running backs 14 yards on 12 att 0 TD's
Culpepper 19 yards on 3 att

Week 2 vs Bengals

Culpepper 21/37 236 yards 5 INT

Runningbacks
67 yards on 12 Att 0 TD's
Pepper
10 yards 2 Att 1TD

Week 3 vs saints
Pepper 21/29 300 yards 3 TD's

Runningbacks 111 yards on 30 Att 0 TD's

WOW look at that!!! when a runnning back breaks 100 yards pepper plays great, but when they suck so does he!

Check the stats for the rest of the season...they all follow this pattern...

I think an arguement could easily be made, that Daunte made Moss who he was. Honestly though, they made each other better...

Ive lived in MN for the last 5 years, and watched almost every Vikes game. People around here, are very fickle and every time there was a loss, the blame went on Daunte..I spent alot of time trying to explain that it wasnt all his fault, and Im not even a Vikings fan. The system over there was designed for a failure plain and simple...
