We have herd a lot of reports lately that Daunte Culpepper is making a "miracle" recovery. It seems as if Daunte thinks he will be ready for pre-season, something we thought wasn't possible just a month ago. Anyway, I didn't see it posted so here is the link from the Palm Beach Post of what I thought was a good article.

Culpepper, who had surgery in November to repair three torn ligaments in his right knee, even said his goal is to play in the exhibition opener at home against Jacksonville on Aug. 12.

"I don't know many people that have come back from an injury like this," Culpepper said. "For the most part, physically, I feel great. I'm coming along, moving along, but it's a day-by-day process. It's a lot of work. I'm just glad to go through practice and not have any setbacks so far."
Culpepper moved well again Saturday. On one play during a team drill, he rolled out of the pocket and then scrambled at full speed to the sideline when no one was open.

Oh God that would be awesome! I know if he plays at all during the entire preseason, it's because Saban and the medical staff have thoroughly OK'd him to play.

Yeah I have all the confidence in our medical staff. I mean have we herd one bad set back or bad report on Daunte this off-season? Every time we get an update it's good news. This one happens to be great news. Daunte is going to participate in training camp in mid-July and that will be the start of a great year!

My friend, this is incredible. When we first traded for Daunte, some people were saying he wouldn't be ready until maybe October or even later. And know to hear that it's entirely possible that Daunte will play this pre-season is absolutely AWESOME!!!!!

he wont be playing in any preseason games

Don't count him out. While I don't think he would play extensively if he does play, I could see him playing a couple of series if he's medically cleared.

now that would be awesome im tired of all the doomsayers around work. tellin me he aint gonna be ready by opening day. I sincerly want to see there expressions when we beat the super bowl champs on opening day. I hope big ben is ready too that would make the victory even sweeter and shut up all the critics.

that sounds great. but to be honest, i don't think it says much. of course his GOAL is to be ready to play in the teams first game. who wouldn't have the goal of being ready for the team's first game. on the other hand, it would be nice to see.

It just proves the point, some people just don't know what they are talking about, and some people think they know, but they really don't know.

As it stands now, he very likely could play a few downs, and starting QB's only play a few downs in the first preseason game anyway. Just so he gets a feel for playing with his OL.

In Saban We Trust!

I'm all for him getting his timing down with his recievers. But, If I see him play anything more than the first 1/4 to 1/2 of the final preseason game, I'll be shocked. I'll also be really miffed.

realisticallly i think maybe the final preseason game and then week 1......i cant believe he really is recovering that fast

first i hear that vick is on our team then i hearhe hes not then i hear hes playing uarterback now i hear hes playing widw receiver

I think SOME people simply understand the nature of the human body. SOME people actually worry about Monday's, not Sunday's. That's when swelling and post adrenaline stress to the body rears it's ugly head. SOME people are actually concerned more about the long term side effects of rushing an athlete to the field for some short term PR.

SOME people actually wish for the long term health of their bona fide superstar, instead of him suiting up on Game 1 just so the fans can say "see told ya he's super human". Then he's on the sidelines off and on for the next 2 months due to complications which are directly contributed to coming back too early.

SOME people actually read news articles that state how the medical staff is using ice baths daily to reduce post practice swelling and allow him to continue practicing. These same SOME people know that practice stress is far less than Game Day stress. That's when they actually play tackle football. That's when 300+ lb linemen decide your superstar would make a good meal. You know, when that knee gets bent and put on the bottom of a pile for the first time.

Yea, SOME people really don't know much.
