They said they were going to discuss how much a healthy Daunte will mean to us.

...and I'm listening to Lebatard and Stugotz right now live at Dolphins training camp, and they just said, "Daunte just threw a bullet to someone (they didn't know who) in the endzone....Man he looks good."

yup just did something about nick declining the dinner and daunte is coming i love the attention

ESPn can't have enough of Culpepper, hopefully it's not stupid, but you never know with ESPN. Some of you guys are fast, lol, I hope you didn't hurt yourself running to the computer to put this thread up, because I was watching NFL live also, and was just about to post this too.

thanks for the heads up. one of the guys said DC is THE top deep passer in the entire NFL :)

WOW i cant belive it they didnt say anything bad about the dolphins its a miracle !!!

Its funny how much the openion of that show changes on players all the time. A couple weeks ago they seemed unsure how Culpepper was going to do. Now they act like they know he is going to great again. I guess it also depends who is on there talking. There was no Golic today so I'm sure that made a difference.

props from them was a surprise, but nice. the hank goldberg thing with the clips was a repeat from ESPN last night, but good commentary, and Schlereth actually made a good point about Culpepper's accuracy as he has had a high career percentage in accuracy. Now up, later on around the horn and PTI, more news on culpepper, jk, but who knows. Some people get worried about the hype Miami's getting, with Wanny as coach I would be worried, but not Saban. He doesn't let expectations distract him, or does he let the media, and you can tell the players have followed that example also, and if Miami is truly a good team or as good as they should be, hype should not get in the way from the players being successful.

It was the same piece that aired on sports center a couple of days ago followed by a new segment where they discussed some things about Daunte and his weapons. I knew our completion percentage was bad last year, but I didn't know it was the worst in the NFL. We come from worst to first, just imagine how big of a difference that's going to make.

There is also an another article from Pasquelrelli (sp?) on ESPN about Daunte and the Fins. He just had one about Ronnie the other day. We are all over the media right now.

Lastly, it suprises me how they have all these good things to say, when during their little depth chart segment, they didn't have us in the playoffs. Maybe they are slowly changing their minds?

I dont see why everyone is so suprised with the positive press...

Granted there are some known homers out there in the industry however, aside from us fin fans, there was nothing to get excited about the phins during the last 2 years of Wanny's era and the first year of Saban's era from a Media Standpoint (the reason why I didn't include all of Wanny's tenure is the arrival of RW was big news and his first year was big news because of the absense of Marino). Hell you can make the argument that pre Brady, the Pats rarely got national coverage, especially because Bledsoe was slowing down and their defense was terrible.

In sports, unless you're in the Big Media Markets NY, LA, Chicago or TX, you have to be good to get recognition.

The phins are getting props for being one of the hottest teams in the NFL coming into this year off of that 6 game win streak and the addition of a bonifide Pro Bowl QB.

There's a lot more reasons to be optimistic about this team when you have C-pep behind the center as opposed to Ferotte, Fiedler, Feely, Griese, Lucas or Rosenfels playing caretaker.

This is a Qb oriented league and minus the Ravens and Bucs championships behind great defenses, the favoritism is always going to start with the QB.

so what I'm trying to say is as much as we would like to believe the media is contradicting itself or jumping on the bandwagon, it's because the wagon has turned around and seems to be going in the right direction. :D
