Culpepper and Garrard: Trading places without trade?

yea, I see no point at all in acquiring gerrard. Cleo is a good backup and then we got beck.. we are set at that position. wow, when was the last time someone said that :)?

Nothing wrong with a little bit of competition

You guys are crazy with this Cleo nonesense. I'd take Garrard anyday of the week over him. Garrard has proved to be a solid player and would be a very good backup

Garrard is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Cleo. He won quite a few games for the Jags when Leftwich went down, what has Cleo done? How can you even say Cleo would be a better backup?

Yup - I read some speculation recently that Garrard would probably wind up with Atlanta. Makes sense to me.

Considering that Lemon has spent almost his entire NFL career learning Cam Cameron's system, I am much more comfortable with him over Garrard (although Garrard is probably more talented).

Garrard is slightly better than Lemon, but I still don't think we should sign him. Lemon knows the system, and has played alright in the limited time he has seen the field. Don't forget, Garrard really cooled off at the end of last season and the Jags lost 3 in a row. For a while it was basically a lock that Garrard would be starting for them and Leftwich would be out the door, but with the way Garrard slipped last year, they obviously didn't do that. We have four QB's (not including Culpepper) already on the roster, and we know three of them aren't going anywhere.

No thanks, Gerrard isn't that good, he's a good back up though.
I wouldn't put any stock into an article that says "They wouldn't trade a late round pick for the second comming of Jim Brown."

Or "They don't care about winning"

This guy doesn't know **** about football.

No thanks on garrard. rather have Lemon. Garrard did OK when Lefty first went down, but stunk it up in the final few games last year. He just can't throw it with any accuracy and only makes plays with his feet. And arent we trying to get rid of a QB with a similar style who doesnt fit Cams system?

I don't see any reason to bring in Garrard. I am not opposed to bringing in a veteran QB to play behind Green, but someone a little better suited would be prefered. While I like Green and Beck, I think the Dolphins should keep an eye out for someone that would be a more suitable backup. Right now we have a third stringer as the main backup.

What had Garrard done before Leftwich got hurt? He wasnt an elite prospect, he garnered this rep from playing well. But he didnt play all that well considering in the beginning when Leftwich first got injured, Garrard was talked about as the future and byron was gone. After it was said and done, Garrard is being considered to be cut? And he is sure fire better than Cleo? Nah, I like Cleo, he hasnt shown anything to say he cant be an effective backup.
