For crying out loud...

Wk 1 leading rusher - Culpepper 19 yds
Wk 2 leading rusher - M.Bennett 36 yds
Wk 3 leading rusher - M.Moore 101 yds...(Culpepper had 300 yds/3 Td's)
Wk 4 leading rusher - M.Moore 57 yds
Wk 5 BYE
Wk 6 leading rusher - M.Moore 57 yds
Wk 7 leading rusher - M.Moore 45 yds

why are their still complainers? I just don't get it. If you want to complain about his injury...fine. We'll soon find out about that. If you want to complain about how bad he was last year...you can blame him for not learning the new offense...and THAT'S IT. Everything else has a legitimate reason.

Fineas's terrific Manifesto thread says it all.

Why are there still people complaining?

I call

[admin]Do not circumvent the profanity filter[/admin], in 2002 the last year the Vikings had a 1,000 yard running back Culpepper lead them to an outstanding 6-10 season, including the last 3 in a row.

Vikings have a great RB depth

Smith is a great back
Moore is like Warrick Dun
Moe is a goaline back
Bennet if healthy is a top 10 IMO

Minnesota Leading Rushers since 2003

2005
Mewelde Moore MIN 662 155 4.3
2004
Onterrio Smith MIN 544 124 4.4
2003
Moe Williams MIN 745 174 4.3

I forgot Fason.I'm saying they have talented backs. They never really had a good O-line.

You had to go all the way back 4 years. Are you serious?...What did he do after that?...he got better...as great players do...he improved...you are reaching.

By the way...if you would have looked...I was talking about LAST year...not 4 years ago.

culpepper will be great.

WE HAD GUS FREAKIN FREROTTE LAST YEAR AT THE HELM AND WE WENT 9-7

imagine what another year under saban will bring us.

we are going to the promised land under nick and daunte.

Minnesota's running game for years has lacked any true identity in part because they had nso many reasonably talented but not outstanding runners. The bottom line was that despite the talent they had, their wasn't one guy they could go to in big situations and that really hurt them.

They didn't have a great O-line....Why do you think Dante struggled?

Robert Smith played ONE year with Culpepper. Culpepper had 40 TD's and 16 INT's...oh, wait are you talking about Onterrio Smith? The same RB that has started a total of 9 games in his career?...Nah, can't be

Dude...you are comparing Mewelde Moore to Dunn? The same Dunn who has had 4 1,000 yard seasons including last years 1,400 yard effort? Moore had never reached 700 yds...yeah, he's just like him.

Michael Bennett is top 10 when healthy?...wow...I am stunned...

I for one personally wanted Brees over Culpepper, but with that said Culpepper for a 2nd rd pick, I'll take that any day of the week.............

About the running game, in '05 we saw one of Ronnie Brown's greatest attributes while running was his ability to run defenders over (literally). We know that Culpepper being shaped like a LB playing QB can do the same.

Reminds me of Saban saying that the Miami Dolphins are going to be a physical team.

With Ricky coming back (once the appeal thing is taken care of), Chambers playing how he ended the year, McMichael reaching his full potential and finally being recognized as a top 3 TE in the NFL making a Pro Bowl, who knows who else we might have at WR. Improved O-Line especially now with Shelton. Our team is looking really good.:cooldude:

Seeing how my family likes the Vikes and watching their games too I can tell you that you obviously pass them over by stats.Onterrio Smith when ive seen him play has proven hes a starter.I like how you bring up a stat comparrasion proving that you have never seen Moore actualy run the ball.Moore is tuff for his size.He has break out speed and can bust out of tackles.Bennet is easily top3 in speed when healthy.come back when you watch other team besides Miami play.

I have seem some Viking games, but how do you discount last year's numbers (the crux of my argument)? Are you saying that the Vikings had a good running game last year?...because that's my whole point. Just because they have talent doesn't mean that they helped Culpepper last year...look again..

Wk 1 leading rusher - Culpepper 19 yds
Wk 2 leading rusher - M.Bennett 36 yds
Wk 3 leading rusher - M.Moore 101 yds...(Culpepper had 300 yds/3 Td's)

Wk 5 BYE

Wk 7 leading rusher - M.Moore 45 yds

Where do you see production?

The vikings have decent depth there, but that doesnt mean you have a good running game.....I am from MN and all i see up here is Vikings games and I dont remember seeing any defense exactly stack the line of scrimmage to stop the vikings run,,,,,Ronnie and Ricky are much more of a running game than those four......Dont think Bennet is top 10 from what ive seen, good speed, thats about all, anyway, When pepper is healthy, he will have enough talent around him to win a lot of games:wink:
