Anyone ever listen to ex-Cane Dan Sileo?
Even though he is a blow hard who mostly talks like an idiot and defends the pathetic UM program, he did reveal some info last week on CPepp.
He said that he had talked to a few coaches/players/etc. and that he feels that the Dolphins will release CPepp and go in a new direction.
It does make sense.
Cameron likes to coach the QB position and the reality is CPepp is old, injured and isn't the brighest player to deal with.

if that happens then that means we hands down will make an attempt at Quinn and end up starting Lemon till quinn is ready.

can anyone else verify this information?

Interesting, I'll deduce that if the above is the truth. JH will restructure and he and Lemon will compete for head seatwarmer while the drafted QB(most likely Quinn) get his NFL shorts wet.

i hope to god we get rid of him. however i dont think we will get rid of harrington and culpepper at the same time for cap reasons. i would love to see berlin come in and compete even he would be an upgrade to pepper. i would still say look to the draft for a top notch QB.

Highly doubt it is true. There is not one free agent QB that is better then Culpepper, and drafting a guy like Quinn is a long shot at best. If we do end up getting Quinn, then I see them parting ways with Culpepper in the 2008 offseason. They won't release him now.

I dont see miami letting DC go b/c harrington just blows. plus his cap is 3.2 compared to DC's 1.8 if i am not mistakenign.

From the Miami Herald:

The Dolphins' brass wants to see Daunte Culpepper's commitment and health (reports are encouraging) before making any grand pronouncements. Although one report suggested Culpepper could be cut to save cap space, that's considered unlikely.

Mistaken big time. Take a look at a Salary Cap chart. Culpepper is $6.9 million and Harrington is $3.483 million. Or:

thats pretty odd. From the last 8 months, they have been saying Cpeps cap saving will be only 1.8 hence they would keep him...(nfl.com had an article stating that) and the 3.8 was harrington the odd man out. even an article this past week came out stating that. I think thats wrong.

Plus he has a 7 digit roster bonus before FA begins if he stays on the team.

mm

i dont know.. i think we sould draft quinn

I believe Culpepper should be starter, but at the same time, I would also like to draft Quinn or another QB.

I had a gut feeling this would happen when the announcement was made that they were going to resign Cleo and that he would compete for playing time. Sounds like they are going to make a hard push for Quinn in the draft.

Honestly though nobody really knows what's going to happen at this point we just have to wait and see.

Yeah because the 14 month younger Harrington would bring youth to the squad

draft a guy, play daunte until he's ready (unless Daunte busts then try Lemon)

I don't think anyones going to get cut until they get a chance to prove themselves.

That's due to some gobbledygook with the CBA allowing us to split Culpeppers hit over two years if we cut him. Harrington provides more in the short run in terms of cap relief, and provides less in terms of football ability. Harrington is likely a goner.
